Easy to install and enroll, but loud relay click
I loved how easy this was to install and how well it works with my home assistant automation. Material quality feels solid, looks good, LED indicators cans be toggled and aren’t too bright when enabled. My only minor complaint is that the internal relay clicks pretty loud when toggling. But it’s easy to live with.

No neutral, requires a hub – but fantastic quality.
I had some old light switches that controlled my dining table light, and ceiling lights in the lounge that I wanted to incorporate into my smart home. Instead of adding unnecessary traffic on my WiFi network by adding a bunch of WiFi light bulbs, I added a paid of these to the light switches instead. These were easy to swap out, look amazing and operate flawlessly. The pros of doing it this way:* Much lower cost that replacing all the light bulbs with smart light bulbs* Doesn’t add unnecessary load on a crowded WiFi network* Maintains the light switch functionality as before – toggles the lights on and off as normal* Avoids issues that might occur if you turned off a light switch with smart bulbs – you’d lose control over them. This problem doesn’t exist in this caseThe cons:* Zigbee device and requires an Aqara Hub – I would recommend the M3, although anything from them will work. You can also use third party Zigbee hubs, and integrate into Home Assistant for example* No neutral comes with a price premium. Ouch!

Pairing with Home Assistant ZHA was a little clunky and buttons aren’t solid, but works great
This was an easy install for our bathroom fan/light combo unit (so we can turn off the fan and light without getting out of bed, don’t judge me bro). Install was quick and easy but pairing with ZHA took a few tries for it to happen. Once it worked, it has been rock solid since and works well in Home Assistant. My only complaint left is that the buttons feel pretty flimsy. Compared to the old switch that had a very satisfying clack when operating, these buttons feel like they’re about to break. So far they’re ok, it’s just a worrisome feeling.

    Works Well
I’m using this smart switch to work my ceiling kitchen fixture. This does not use a neutral wire which was necessary for me as my house is older and does not have a neutral in the switch wiring box. Three wires to hook up. Line, load and ground. It is necessary to use an Aqara hub. I bought an E1 from Amazon as well, which was the least expensive option. Just follow the setup instructions in each box. The setup was a little clunky as I had to repeat steps a couple of times. You don’t have to turn off your 5G network, just make sure your phone is on a 2.5 during setup. All in all not a bad experience. The switch was packaged well and protected in the box. Very good build quality. I added Aqara Home skill to Alexa and now have voice control with my Echo dot. I’ve tried other less expensive smart switches that didn’t require neutral wires but couldn’t get any others to work with my fixture which has 4 bipin LED tubes. Highly recommended.

Eh, Ok in general, but quality inconsistent
I just moved and found that a couple of my switches did not have neutral wires in the box, so off I go to find new switches and came across these. I ordered one to test out. Got it installed and so far so good, so I order another for a second room, and this one just doesn’t want to work. I installed it like normal; the switch comes on when pressed, all seems good. About 5-10 mins later, when I went back to install the wall plates, the switch will not turn the fixture on and the led light on the switch is flashing blue/red, which per the instructions either means it’s too hot, or it’s not connected to the zigbee network. However, I hadn’t gotten to the point of trying to add it to my hub and it was still hanging out of the electrical box, so it shouldn’t have been too hot. I went back and confirmed all my connections were solid and tried it again. The switch comes on for about 5 mins, but then once turned off will not come back on.Also, a note about the wall plates. They have designed this switch to have a screwless/decora type look, however the installation is awkward. The long screws to attach the switch to the electrical box do not stay in their holes, so be careful to not lose your screws. Then there are a second set of screws to attach the wall plate bracket to the switch, and those are VERY short and do not have a way to stay in the holes, so it is very easy to drop/lose the screws. I was willing to give this company a go since so many people seemed to have good luck, but I think I’ll pass going forward. Curious to see how long the first switch I bought will last, will report back if it goes bad.

    great Zigbee light switch
With this single switch, I can control 6 devices in my Home Assistant smart home system. Personally, I love that they are buttons and not typical switches. It makes activating them much easier when you are just passing by. I have two of these and several of the single button ones that Aqara makes. They all work great and will be getting more in the future to complete the home update. The one feature that I wish these had was functionality of being a “router” device vs “end” device. I think that is more of an issue with my old 1930’s house wiring (no neutral) than the device though.Cheers

My living room ceiling fan electrical connection has no neutral wire so could not connect with iPhone. It works perfectly now and connects through the Aqara hub. Life gets lazier all the time😁

Works great and feels quality. But makes a horrible buzzing noise similar to a coil whine. Can hear it from 2- 3 meters away. Gave me a headache by the time I finished setting it up.
