Very easy installation
Use this smart plug to control the decorative lights on my lanai. Installation (ie, connecting to WiFi) was very easy and quick. Works fine. It’s not made for outdoors but my outlet is covered so figured this would protect it from the elements. So far, so good.

Worked and then it and others didn’t – but SOLVED
UPDATE: Support was persistent and showed me how to use Scenes to setup the same thing I wanted. Worked like a charm. App is really clean and pretty intuitive too.Bought one of these to use to turn a lamp on an off in my living room. It has a feature to use Sunset as a timer, allowing you to set any number of minutes in advance of sundown to turn on (same feature with Sunrise). The one I purchased worked so well I purchased another. That’s when things fell apart. When I setup the second one, it wouldn’t allow an offset from Sunset to be set. Not only that, but once I added the new smart plug, the first one no longer had that feature. Could only set them to turn on at Sunset. Well, after several emails to support (halfway around the world so email was only way for support), they decided to send me 2 new ones. They were very apologetic and wanted to make things right. Well, the 2 new ones – the first one wouldn’t allow to activate Sunset setting at all because it couldn’t access location data from my phone (though it was setup to and the original one I had still did so I know it was working). So that replacement was a fail. Then the second replacement didn’t even have the menu option to go into the settings for Sunset. Completely missing.

I love this. So far, it has not failed when I activate it via wifi. It pairs up nicely with Alexa. Looks great, great value for money.

Easy connect to SmartLife app
Just plug them in, the app finds them. You can name them, set a schedule and control them remotely. Great for Holiday lighting and regular schedules.

Reliably operates from both the Smart Life app and third-party smart home apps, quick response.Does make a noticeable click when switching on/off regardless of load, but not enough to be bothersome. Fairly small and easy to fit in tight spaces, just make sure nothing can accidentally press the button on the plug.Setup is simple via the app, might need to try more than once sometimes when setting the plug up for the very first time, unplugging and plugging back in can help fix issues. May get better performance if 2.4GHz WiFi isn’t noisy from many devices using it nearby.Doesn’t have built-in power measurement, limited power measurement currently available within Smart Life by measuring how long the plug is on for a day which is ok, but not suitable if you want something more accurate/detailed.Good for the cost if on sale or with instant savings, buy a 4-pack for the best value if you have more devices you may want to use with smart plugs later.Note that the plugs are rated for a max of 1100 watts, a little bit less than 10A at 120V.

We use Alexa and Google home to control a lot of various lights and devices including outdoor lighting. These are easy to pair and work very well even at some surprising distances. (well over 40 feet) with our MESH system. They do NOT work on 5g so pair them and use on 2.4 for your remotes, and you’ll be happy. Reading negative reviews suggests that some users need to read ALL the instructions prior to expressing unfounded negativity. Perhaps implementing a MESH system to their home would improve their experiences on many levels.

Great product. Easy setup. If the automatic detection does not work immediately, remove it and plug it in again and the quick flashing lights will work and then your network will be discoverable. Very flexible app – easy to rename plugs and to create schedules.Downside: You cannot plug in another appliance into an outlet next to one of these plugs. It is simply to large and you end up losing that second outlet. So you might lose that second outlet because this plug is just bulky enough. An outlet adapter would be needed.Still: I’d buy more of these products. The app is simple to use, the plug is working well – after a few weeks.
