    UPDATED: Cloud recording now works very well
    Since I posted the review below DLink’s updated firmware corrected the issue. Streams video well and is configured through the app. Happy with the purchase.Original post:This camera is no longer has DLink’s cloud support so detected motion cannot be automatically recorded and saved. The app still shows these as supported cameras for that feature but the AppStore description says these older models are no longer supported for cloud recording. I’ll be returning the cameras as the product details are incorrect and I purchased based on using an unavailable feature.

    Apparently not refurbished
    Did not work. Was connected to another D-Link account, did a factory reset, connected to our internet, but would not connect to D-Link cloud. Returning. Do I try another? Have 2 others that work great.

    A finicky garage door is the reason for this camera
    Have come home several times and found the garage door open when I was absolutely sure I had closed it. I suspect another unit nearby and mine were swapping codes. I installed this camera in the garage so I could see if the door was closed by simply looking at the app on my phone. Camera picture quality is pretty good, has infrared so can see in complete darkness, and also has a microphone in case you want to listen to what’s going on. Sends a “motion detection” signal if my door is opened and, although I don’t use it, can send a warning if sound is detected. Was easy to set up and definitely handles the issue that I had. No more worrying about whether I closed the garage door or not.

    Simple and works
    I already owned one D-Link camera for another building. I already had the app so installation was a snap. Turn it on, scan the QR code on the bottom, and you are almost ready to go. You have to be a little patient until the wifi connects. Colors are off except in good light, but as a simple security cam, who cares? No PTZ, but that is how it is advertised so no disappointment there. The cam shows a good wide angle picture, and that works well for my purposes. Small camera body is unobtrusive. As a low-cost security cam, I recommend it.

    I purchased this second set of security cameras for my son. I have them installed all around my house and gave my son a set to install around and inside his townhouse apartment for safety reasons. One can never be too safe.

    Poor design but camera works well
    The camera is designed to sit vertically on a flat horizontal surface (only a perfectly level surface). It can be pointed in any direction but this amounts to having only 1 degree of freedom – rotation. At least their prior designs had 2 and sometimes 3 degrees of freedom so you could fully adjust where the camera pointed after mounting the base.

    Big things come in small packages
    This tiny camera if not better it on the same level as these high priced security cameras. It has a clear picture. The only issue I have is sometimes have me away from my home when I’m home and home when I’m away so i make sure to check it so I can correct it if needed otherwise I like it and would buy again

    Product was not able to connect… it did not work!
    The camera came connected to someone else’s MyDlink account. I reset the camera multiple times with no luck. The camera was not able to connect to my account. I had to throw it away.

    I have bought refurbished Dlink cameras before and they have been good as new, The two I bought this time both failed in the same way. When installing, both refused because they were linked to other DLink accounts. This suggests they were returns that has not been renewed and checked. I factory reset and both cameras found my internet and linked to the DLink cloud. Both failed the next step of writing the net and cloud data to the eproms — error message “Device Error – Setting device info failed”. This suggests they were returned, maybe with same problem, and never checked. Amazon refunded with no problem but potential buyers should be warned that, even though the price appears good, you may be frustrated by the quality. In addion the usual mounting bracket was not included which makes the price non-competitive if you need the mount. I rated the camera quality in terms of the other DLinks of this type that I have in use. It is ane xcellent product if you do not need panning capabilities.

    I would give this a one star but I have experienced PIA with these units Purchased two of these cameras , first one was tricky to get working but success. Second unit would not go any further than seek wifi signal and could hear lense clicking between day night mode. Multiple attempts of soft and hard (push button) resets *20* and checking firm & soft ware without success and camera was sitting mere inches from router. Recieved a Dud. Came without mounting stand. Sent it packing!The working camera has great picture wide angle, clear and true colors .
