    Amazing Smart Bulb
My experience with this was amazing. I had it up and running withing 10 minutes of installation. The hub does need to update however I just takes a few mins. I don’t use Alexa but Google and it works perfectly with google. I’ve attached a video of my using it with my Smart TVEdit4 months in and everything is still great, however they would be shutting down cloud service in August so after then users would be able to control them remotely and can only control them once connected to the same network.

    Reliable and Good Price!
These bulbs are great, they have been reliable so far, and the price is good. I’m able to control them with Alexa through my Wink hub. They seem quite responsive to me. Not shown in the video, but I can also dim the lights by percentage, for example 10% or 50%

Frustrating Experience with SYLVANIA 74283 Dim Smart+ LED Light Bulb
I recently had a disappointing encounter with the SYLVANIA 74283 Dim Smart+ LED Light Bulb, as it seemed to have been previously paired, rendering it impossible to reset and connect to my system.Cons:1. **Pre-Paired Frustration**: Upon attempting to set up this smart LED bulb, I encountered a significant problem. It appeared that the bulb had already been paired with another system, and despite my best efforts, I couldn’t reset it to connect to my own smart home setup.2. **Wasted Time**: Trying to troubleshoot and reset the bulb consumed valuable time and effort. It was a frustrating experience that left me without the desired smart lighting solution.3. **Incompatibility**: This issue of pre-pairing highlights a compatibility problem that could potentially affect other users as well. It’s important for smart devices to have a straightforward reset process to ensure usability for all customers. In summary, my experience with the SYLVANIA 74283 Dim Smart+ LED Light Bulb was marred by the fact that it appeared to have been previously paired with another system, making it impossible for me to integrate it into my smart home setup. This incompatibility issue was extremely frustrating and resulted in a wasted effort to make the bulb work. I would caution potential buyers to ensure compatibility and verify the reset process before purchasing this smart bulb.

I have changed my mind – I like it more than I did on first impression….
meh – At first, I was excited to find a $10 smart bulb. Next, I was frustrated that it was not a Prime item, and it took longer to arrive than normal (I’m spoiled). When I opened the box, the instructions clearly say that you must have a module they call a Gateway to run the device. I was pissed, b/c the Amazon ad said it was Echo and SmartThings compatible. I went ahead & installed the bulb; SmartThings found it on the 2nd attempt and we were off and running…. Just another case of worthless instructions… no gateway needed when I have a SmartHub. I will purchase more but I won’t trust Sylvania to produce effective documentation—— Update from 07Jul17 – well, my initial review was not so hot, but I have settled in with my SmartHub from Samsung and these are the only bulbs of this kind that I buy. If you have a SmartThings hub, this, in my opinion, is the best and most affordable product to use. If you do not have a hub and only want to use the Echo to control your lights, the TP-link bulb MIGHT be a better choice, but perhaps others here will have more to add about the suitability of this product without a smart hub. I am buying one of these bulbs about every three weeks – would love to see sylvania produce more low cost bulbs of other designs, like indoor floods and chandelier lights

    Still worth buying!!!
I finally feel like I can give this a review. First, you need a hub or a high-end Alexa. Period. I guess I don’t really understand the gripe on that. Yep, it uses up another plug. It’s an electronic device and requires electricity. I don’t remember going back in time to the 1920’s. I’m good. I have enough plugs. I DID have issues setting up the hub that I bought with a lightbulb as a set at another retailer. It told me that it was tied to another account. I think someone else got frustrated and returned it because there was handwriting on the instruction booklet. I emailed Sylvania/not Sylvania and was unlinked within 12 hours and set to go. At that point I was ready to go and set for the system and two light bulbs was probably about 10 to 15 minutes. I ran into trouble linking it to Alexa. I have an Echo Dot. I was able to find a manual link to the skill in another review and get it loaded. I thought I had it all set up, but couldn’t get the two to actually talk. I emailed Sylvania again and they said that they were updating everything and it would be up soon. So, I put the lights on a timer and ran that way. Really not a big deal folks. I know that now that we have smart lights, the light switch has gotten super heavy to move. It’s okay. We can do it! Maybe someone will invent a workout for it someday. Anyway, I thought I would check in tonight and see how the reviews have been and noticed that people have been saying that they have been able to control it with Alexa. It worked!! Now I have spent a half hour telling Alexa to turn on/off/dim my lights. I am giving it three stars for the hassle of having to email them overseas to get the device unhooked from someone else’s account and the skill not working while doing the update. Other than that…I LOVE them and I will be buying more bulbs now!

    can get quirky
After a bit of a pain to get to work with Alexa, these worked fairly well. I used them in my ceiling fan and they came on, dimmed and shut off on command. After a month of use, the bulbs would turn off one at a time then come back on again. It isn’t a consistant problem and I can’t figure out why it does that. It hasn’t happened again for a couple of weeks, but that’s what happens. Don’t know when it’s going to act up.

Fast delivery. Very good brightness and warm white color. I use them with my SmartThings Hub and the bulbs were detected and integrated to my system on the very first attempt.

En la publicación deberían resaltar que se necesita un HUB para usarse. No está clara esa parte.

Lights connected to my Wink hub 2 right away and worked great. Light colour is warm vs too blue and works well in most fixtures. I thought the price was good vs other similar products.
