    Works well, easy setup
Had the switch for over a year and had no issues. Bluetooth setup is easy to use with Apple Homekit, have not had issues with range but I have a fairly small house. When the power goes out, automatically re-connects unlike wi-fi switches which I sometimes have to re-pair to Homekit. I see lots of reviews with issues with homekit, but have not experienced that myself.

Generally works ok but falls out of HomeKit monthly
**December 16, 2019 update:After becoming terribly frustrated by the fact that it falls off of homekit even more often than monthly, I have swapped the eve switch in the laundry for this switch in the bedroom. My wife could not tolerate this thing any longer. After moving to the laundry, I really just want it to turn off the light after 15 min. Unfortunately it is now falling off of homekit after days instead of weeks. So I tried to set up the device in the native app to not work with any smart system, just the sylvania app. The app crashed 6 times getting the firmware loaded for sylvania control. In that mode you can do exactly two things: turn it on, and turn it off. I was hoping I could at least just program in a schedule that resided only on the bulb that would turn it off every night, but that is not the case. Crashed the app a few more times, but eventually set it back up for homekit. If you have to re-pair it into homekit so often, it cannot be worth anything. This switch works really well as a dumb switch. The paddle switch for on an off feels nice when clicking and responds well.As a smart switch it works exactly as expected for a Bluetooth Homekit switch. I use it to trigger automations and also in scenes and automations. Often the first time triggering the device from a phone or automation will lag up to 6 seconds, but then will be very quick on any subsequent action. This is expected for HomKit bluetooth devices, and I was fully expecting this based on previous BLE Homekit devices. The device has had two main issues so far in the 6 months since purchase.1. the app is a dumpster fire. It is ONLY used for firmware updates if you use HomeKit. However, when you enter the app it shows you EVERY SINGLE HOMEKIT DEVICE you have. It even has a button to attempt to update the firmware on every single device you have. This is just dumb. It is also dumb that you cannot even check the status of your sylvania devices, or even lookup the product manual for the sylvania devices you have connected. If you end up signing in on the app, it wants to turn the device into an Alexa/Google/BLE mesh device and disable HomeKit and also just turns into a slow blob of not functioning.2. The switch has to be re added to homekit every month without fail. It basically just goes into pairing mode all on its own and then has to be re added. Unfortunately, my wife is the one who always discovers this, so I’m not sure how many months this thing has left in it before I will have to replace it with something more stable. (it is possible that someone is resetting this device accidentally, but that is just as bad. to reset all you have to do is hold the paddle down for 5 seconds, which is far too easy to do)

    Love it
It is Amazing I have had 0 problems with it. I do not use the app for it I just control it through the home app on my iPhone. Works with Siri and everything and was super simple to install!

If you have older wiring, proceed with caution
This switch does work. But it requires a 3 or 4 wire electrical box if you want to install it easily. That means red (secondary hot makes circuit), black (hot), white (neutral or lead wire) and green (ground) preferably. In older houses, that protocol was generally not done. So you have to modify the house wiring in the electrical box to accommodate the switch. It does work, however. If you don’t now what you are doing, definitely call your electrician.Regarding the switch itself, it seems that the connection to HomeKit is inconsistent. I’m talking about direct commands from the phone app to turn the switch on or off.Initially, I thought this might be because I didn’t start the connection with the Sylvania app. But even after downloading, updating and reconnecting that way, it doesn’t always respond.I have also noticed that using Siri with that switch sometimes doesn’t work or delays a minute or 2 before initiating the command.I have also noticed that since installing iPod minis to HomeKit that inconsistency with the switch has increased when playing music. I have super fast wifi, so it doesn’t seem to be related to that.I haven’t figured out yet if there is some kind of HomeKit software command priority or if to is strictly switch related. But since the inconsistency was present before the install of the iPod Minis, I suspect the problem if with the switch. It’s a bummer because I have 4 more of these switches and don’t really want to hassle with the inconsistent performance. I am thinking about trying the Lutron switches to see if they configure better.

Works OK and then Fails Hard
UPDATE:The switches are out right failing. My garage switches and my basement switch no longer works physically or through homekit. They just went dead. I will be replacing the remainder of the Sylvania switches (working or not) with Meross units which have been proven to be incredibly reliable.Based upon problems with another Sylvania product (the smart colored spotlight bulb) I will not be buying any Sylvania products in the future.————————————————————Initial operation is ok. The switch has an annoying delay for triggering on-off, clearly software driven and slow.Out of 6 of these, 2 have flat out failed completely after less than a year of operation and 1 keeps on falling out of HomeKit enrollment and has to be re-enrolled regularly. That’s a 50% failure rate.On the high side, Sylvania stood behind their products and are shipping out 3 replacements with no hesitation. That’s a big deal.Be ready to use a file to widen your decora wall plates if you try to use this switch in a gang plate. The switch lever is slightly too large for the standard decora plate and you have to physically modify any non-Sylvania plate so the switch fits. Widen it enough so the switch does not stick because if it sticks, it resets. ;-). Frankly, this is poor engineering and portends more poor engineering as noted above.

It is ok. Good price for the switch but the app is finicky.
It was easy to install but the app is really bad. I tried the update and it will only work on my iPad but not my iPhone. It looses network connection all the time after applying the firmware update. The app needs some serious updating as it is buggy.
