    Great inexpensive video doorbell with no monthly subscription fees!
    We have been loving this video doorbell for the past few months. It gives me peace of mind and extra security. Installation was simple, once we figured out that the breaker for the doorbell is often on the same circuit as the air conditioner and furnace! It takes a little work to connect the wires at the door, and at the old chime in the house, but nothing too difficult. There are multiple different doorbell sound options and volume settings for the chime (which you just plug in, connect to the doorbell through the app, and go!). I love that we don’t need to pay a monthly subscription to have this extra layer of security (though there are additional services available for additional fees if desired). It is sleek and low profile, quality of the camera is decent in light or darkness. The position of the camera can be adjusted by using the included angled plate. We love this doorbell camera (as well as our other Wyze cameras)!

    After receiving the replacement for the first one I had to return, we have enjoyed everything we get from having this bell.I returned the first one because it was clearly used. The box was not sealed and there was a hair in the box…yuck! I wish Amazon would NOT send us returned items from someone else. This is not the first time either.The bell was very easy to attach once you knew what you needed and that’s a power source. Once the hubby installed it, we have enjoyed all that it offers. It calls your phone when someone rings it. It captures so much in the camera. It can be used as a walkie-talkie with the person at the door. It has a very short recording span but you have options where you can purchase more recording time.All in all, it’s a good buy and their is NO monthly fee

    First impressions…. The installation guide is great! So easy with step by step pictures and instruction. Having a close router is important for best quality. Can’t beat the price, the UI of the app is super intuitive and user friendly.Will update again in a few monthsThe micro USB port is SUPER nice!2 days in: updated firmware and placed detection zones. Still can’t get this to detect people, had an Amazon delivery…. No notification. But if the tree blows from a breeze I get 2 or 3. Hoping this improvesI REALLY don’t like the strobe like flashing when the device has lost wifi connection, I feel like announcing to everyone that HEY, THIS CAMERA ISN’T WORKING kinda defeats the purpose a bit. If I’m home, I will know the wifi is out,if I’m away a flashing light won’t notify me any better than a “unable to connect” wouldAnother update: now that I have finally gotten the zones and detection sensitivity set, this thing is a GREAT little device. Still not happy with the strobe when losing internet, and the wifi range needs work, but this thing is GREAT otherwise. Just bought 2 v3 outdoor cams to add to try outAnother edit: make sure to label the fuze or to put a switch to cut power to the device, have had to hard reset twice, which isn’t a big deal, it happens, but it’s not as easy as pulling a wall outlet. I installed a switch on top of the doorbell chime from the initial wiring. Works great!

    High value, has the features I want and looks great, too
    For a doorbell camera I tried the Google Nest doorbell Ring v2, Blink, and the Wyze model. Of all but the Wyze camera the motion detection was just awful. With both the Ring and Blink, something as small as the wind hitting my hedges in the distance (in an area I indicated as irrelevant) would set off the alarm and yet someone could pretty much walk right up and rip my door off and nothing. The Wyze doorbell selective motion detection actually works very well. The notifications are a bit delayed, but I’m ok with that.What I also like about the Wyze is that the button is constantly lit blue, and the device itself was the smallest of all the ones I tested. Google was comically large, followed by ring and then blink.The field of view was best with Blink, I’d say, followed by Ring and then Google. I found Wyze to have the worst field of view, but in my application this was acceptible (I only need the camera for the door, not to monitor other areas of my property as I have separate cameras for that).When cost is favored in, Wyze came out as a clear winner.

    Second unit purchased. Original stopped working after about 1.5 years. Bit tricky to pair. Assisted by electrician who was doing some electrical work at our residence. Old unit needed to be dumped before new unit was functional.Other than breaking down before it’s time and wifi pairing difficulties. I like this unit’s size and functionality.
