    Great product
This is a GREAT product. Just buy it. FIVE STARS!A great compliment to home security. Can make you look like your home when you’re not through automated “vacation mode” light controls. And much more.Originally I gave it a one star review bc the plug kept dropping off wifi connection. Basically making the plug not an ideal choice for home security. However, there was an OTA firmware update two weeks ago. Since then, none of my plugs have dropped off wifi. Very stable now.Plugs work great now. AMAZING product. Thanks Wyze!p.s. below was my original one star review for context********I am a loyal Wyze customer. I have many of their products in my house from cameras, outdoor floodlights, plugs, etc. In total, about 17 wyze products in my home. Many of my Wyze products are GREAT.So it pains me to have to write a negative review on their smart plug. These smart plugs have a huge flaw – they randomly disconnect from their wifi connection. And their is no way to reestablish the wifi connection unless you are physically next to the plug and have to do a hard physical restart. The plug is incapable of reestablishing wifi connection automatically. And you can not prompt it to do so remotely via the app on your smartphone.Since most people will use this plug to control lights when they are away for security reasons (vacation, coming home late from work, etc), this random wifi drop problem makes it a terrible choice as part of a home security setup.Went on two vacations recently. Both over a week long. A few days into each vacation, my app started showing a few of my plugs as “off line”. Basically you can’t control them remotely and they are no long working. Basically your home security with lights going on and off at night is gone.I’ve spoke to customer service many times on this issue. I’ve done it all – hard resents, turning off 5ghz on router so plug can connect to 2.4ghz, erase/reinstall app, etc. Nothing works. When you google this issue, there’s a lot of people out there experiencing the same thing with this plug.Wyze has openly stated they are aware of the issue and have sent firmware updates to fix it. Firmware update have been sent, but the issue is not fixed. This is the first negative Amazon review I have ever written. I hope Wyze reads this and understands that loyal customers of Wyze are super frustrated over this issue.PLEASE FIX THIS.It’s my hope that you can fix this asap. And then I can turn this one star review into a five star!Thank you

The Wyze Plug (Indoor and Outdoor) is an excellent addition for anyone looking to automate their home without the hassle of extra equipment or complicated setups. With no hub required, these plugs are simple to install and work seamlessly with 2.4GHz WiFi. They’re compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT, which means you can set up custom commands, voice control, and scheduling with ease. Here’s everything you need to know about these plugs for both indoor and outdoor use.Wyze Indoor Smart Plug – 2.4GHz WiFi, Compatible with Alexa & Google Assistant, Two-PackThe Wyze Indoor Smart Plug is the perfect solution for controlling devices around the house. From lamps to coffee makers, this smart plug offers a reliable, responsive way to automate your everyday appliances.Setup and InstallationSetting up the Wyze Indoor Plug is quick and straightforward. You only need a 2.4GHz WiFi network, which most homes already have. Just plug it in, download the Wyze app, and follow the simple setup instructions to connect each plug. In under five minutes, you’ll be able to control your devices directly from your smartphone or with a voice assistant. And because no hub is required, the whole process is incredibly streamlined.Functionality and CompatibilityOnce set up, the Wyze Indoor Plug works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT, so you can control it with voice commands or set up routines. For instance, you can say, “Alexa, turn on the coffee maker,” or set up a routine to have your lights turn on automatically when the sun sets. It also offers scheduling options in the app, allowing you to automate on/off times. This feature is especially useful if you’re going on vacation and want to make it look like someone’s home by controlling lamps on a timed schedule.Ease of UseThe Wyze app is very intuitive, allowing you to add or remove devices, create schedules, and check the current status of each plug in a couple of taps. The plug itself is compact and doesn’t block adjacent outlets, which is convenient if you’re using it in a tight space.Wyze Outdoor Smart Plug – Dual Outlets, Energy Monitoring, IP64-Rated, BlackFor outdoor setups, the Wyze Outdoor Plug is a powerhouse. With an IP64 rating, it’s dustproof and water-resistant, which means it can handle rain, snow, and other harsh weather conditions. The dual-outlet design also allows you to control two devices independently from the same plug.Setup and ConnectivityThe outdoor plug connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network and is easy to pair with the Wyze app, just like the indoor version. Installation is straightforward, and with the IP64 rating, you don’t need to worry about the elements damaging your device. It’s designed to hold up in different climates, making it perfect for outdoor lighting, garden decor, fountains, or holiday lights.Energy Monitoring FeatureOne of the standout features of the Wyze Outdoor Plug is energy monitoring. Through the Wyze app, you can see how much energy each device is consuming, which is a great tool for managing electricity usage and optimizing costs. This is especially helpful for appliances or lights that might be in constant use, as it allows you to track usage and potentially cut down on energy bills.Voice and App ControlLike the indoor plug, the outdoor version is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT, allowing for easy voice commands and smart home integrations. You can turn your outdoor lights on or off with a simple voice command, or set up automated schedules so your lights turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. Each outlet is independently controlled, which means you can have one device on and one off, adding extra flexibility to your outdoor setup.Durability and ReliabilityThe Wyze Outdoor Plug feels robust and built to last. The IP64 rating means it’s protected from dust and water spray, so you can confidently leave it outside without worrying about weather damage. It also has a grounded plug and is equipped with a rubberized cover for extra protection when not in use. The design is thoughtful and rugged, ideal for year-round use in varied weather.Pros and Cons of the Wyze Smart Plug SystemPros:Easy to set up, no hub requiredCompatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTTIntuitive Wyze app with scheduling and remote controlIndoor and outdoor versions both work on 2.4GHz WiFi, no extra network setupOutdoor version has energy monitoring and dual outlets, which can be controlled separatelyCompact design on the indoor plug, doesn’t block adjacent outletsCons:Only works on 2.4GHz WiFi (not compatible with 5GHz networks)Energy monitoring is only available on the outdoor model, not the indoorOutdoor plug can be a bit bulky, so make sure you have space to accommodate it if using in tight areasPro Tips:Use the scheduling feature to set your lights to mimic someone being home when you’re away—great for added security. For the outdoor plug, take advantage of energy monitoring to identify high-usage devices and optimize your energy consumption. You can also use IFTTT to create custom routines, like having the indoor plug turn on when your smart camera detects motion, adding another layer to your home automation.Bottom Line:The Wyze Indoor and Outdoor Smart Plugs are reliable, feature-packed options for anyone looking to bring their home into the smart age. The indoor plug is perfect for everyday devices like lamps, coffee makers, and fans, while the outdoor plug is robust enough to handle seasonal lighting, garden decor, and outdoor appliances with ease. Works great & easy to setup
I have purchased this brand of smart plug before, and I recommend them to my friends. They are easy to pair, and compatible with Apple and Google. If you need smart plugs this is the brand to buy, in my opinion.

    Good alternative to each timers
I decided to try these as an upgrade over old school outlet timers. One on the coffee pot and one for a lamp. It’s fairly easy to setup but not immediately intuitive for non tech types. It requires using their app and it requires internet access. The app allows linking up Wyze sensors as triggers or setting any type of schedule. I guess IFTTT has some actions that can be used as well. But no Apple Homekit integration and that’s for all Wyze to date. I believe they do work with Alexa and google home. Basically once in the app, you can setup action, schedules and shortcuts. What I like is it’s easy to over ride the schedule by simply going to the app to turn on or off rather than reaching down behind a cabinet or table to reach a timer to manually hit the on off button, although these also have the physical button. For lamps, there is a vacation mode that I believe randomizes the on off schedule. It would be useful if they added a dusk to dawn function or allow selecting dusk and or dawn individually for lamp scheduling. What I don’t like is no ability to edit the WiFi setup without resetting and starting over and reliance on internet access. So far I’ve only had one failure to turn on when scheduled, not sure why. For the cost, it’s cheaper than a plug-in timer and offers 15amp capacity for things like coffee makers. Overall, I’d buy again but would like to see easier ability to edit WiFi setup and zero reliance on internet once setup.

It is easy to set a time schedule or use the timer to turn the switch on or off or you can override the setting and turn on or off. You can pair up more and put them in a group to monitor. Love Wyze products, good value and dependable products for a decent price.
