Better than Official Wyze one
I bought the Wyze panel, it sucked. didn’t work well, died after a month of use. I went with this ‘generic’? brand, and it worked great. It’s been rained on, snowed on, is screwed to the mailbox post, and the doorbell is on the fence. My doorbell has been charged for almost a year with no interference form me.Now, this part of my house is on the north side, so my doorbell works fine during the day, but since the solar panel is half in shade, it doesn’t get full light, and my doorbell kinda dies out at night, which here in the PNW is about 3PM. It charges just enough, can help maintain, but don’t expect it to fully charge in the winter. It will extend the use though, so less often charging is needed.

Not impressed, not even sure it works
I only saw slight improvement on the battery life by that I mean it added an extra day maybe before I had to take the doorbell cam off to charge it. So based on the hassle of installing a new mounting bracket and installing the solar panel I would say donât waste your time or money with this item.

Works great in direct sunlight.
I installed this yesterday, with the doorbell at 25% and battery saver turned on. It gets passive sunlight in the afternoon and a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning. This afternoon it’s at 54%. So far it seems like it puts out enough power to charge the battery in direct sunlight, and enough to hold the charge in filtered sunlight. This is with the “battery saver” option turned on in the doorbell settings.Later on I will see if we’re getting enough power to turn off “battery saver” in the doorbell settings.So this will probably work for anyone who can place the panel where it gets direct sunlight. In the shade or northern view, it will probably not be worthwhile. It does have a long cord, so you can get creative with panel placement.

Easy to install & powers my doorbell
I used a website to tell me the best positioning for the panel – it showed the daily arc of the sun. I screwed the support arm into the top of a crossbar in my gutter so I didn’t put a hole in the roof or gutter itself and pointed the panel to the best sun direction. I hooked it up to my Wyze Doorbell Pro with it at about 55% battery to test how it did. It was cloudy the past few days, but it still charged. It’s at 100% and holding there. I’m quite pleased with it and happy I don’t have to take the doorbell off every couple weeks to charge it.
