Reasonably priced and easy to install
I’ve installed a lot of smart switches in my home from several manufacturers, including Leviton, Zooz, Inovelli, Enbrighten, UltraPro and GE. My son recently bought his first home, so I set up a dozen smart switches to control the lights throughout his house. We decided to use WiFi-based smart switches so he wouldn’t need the extra complication of a hub. These UltraPro switches have several features that make them very easy to install, compared to some of the other switches I’ve used. For one, the UltraPro switches allow you to insert the wires straight into the back of the switch and then tighten a screw. This is very quick, it saves a lot of space, and it makes the switches easier to handle in the box. Some other switches have wires permanently attached and you have to connect to your household wires with wire nuts, which take up more space and are more cumbersome in the box. Some others don’t use wire nuts, but they require you to tightly wrap your wires around a screw terminal on the switch and then tighten them down. This is very difficult for an amateur.Another nice feature of the UltraPro is that it isn’t as deep as other switches. Some of my boxes were very crowded and it was nice to have a little extra room to get everything back in place. UltraPro wisely included a 6-inch piece of white jumper wire in each package to tap into the neutral bundle in the box. With other switches, I’ve had to make my own jumpers. UltraPro has a feature they call “Simple Wire” that senses which is the line wire and which is the load wire, so you can’t hook it up backwards. This is a nice feature, but I still used my line tester to identify the line/load wires and hooked all the switches with the line on the bottom and the load on the top, for consistency.UltraPro offers its own app for controlling the switches, but you can also use the SmartLife app from Tuya. Since my son already had a SmartLife account for some smart wall outlets he used in his apartment, we decided to use the SmartLife app to set up the switches. One fewer account to keep track of! It was extremely easy to set up. As soon as we powered on each switch, the SmartLife app recognized the new switch and added it to the account. It downloaded a software update to each switch and we were ready to go.For integration with Alexa, you have to activate the SmartLife skill through the Alexa app. That was easy. As soon as we did this, Alexa immediately added the new switches to its device list. After reading many Amazon reviews from people who had great difficulty (or reported it was impossible) to get their switches connected to either the UltraPro app or the SmartLife app and synchronized with Alexa, I guess we were lucky. Once all the switches were wired and we turned the power back on, it took maybe 15 minutes to set up all dozen switches, including downloading the software updates. Everything worked perfectly. One last comment about the UltraPro switches is that they seem to be solidly built. They provide a very satisfying “click” when the rocker switch is pushed. The travel is not as much as the dumb switches they replaced, but the UltraPro switches feel good. Obviously I can’t comment on their longevity yet. Comparing all of the other switches I’ve used, my subjective rank has the UltraPro and the Zooz switches as having the most solid “feel” and satisfying “click”. Inovelli is very close and Leviton is last. The Leviton’s have a more mushy feel, which some people might prefer.Overall, I am very happy with the purchase of these UltraPro Wifi Smart Switches.

Terrific smart switch for the home! A few caveats.
(update to give correct name for the Smart Life app)Been using Z-wave stuff for ages but wanted to switch to Wi-Fi because the Z-wave subsystems for things like Ring and Home Assistant got a bit flaky on me, forgetting when they were on or off, not signalling transitions, that kind of thing. Wi-Fi seems to be more responsive, somehow. These work in single switch and three-way configuration, but keep in mind the three-way configuration is NOT standard. Make sure to read the directions. When installing them, I highly recommend not installing them using the UltraPro software/app. Use the Smart Life app for Tuya products. This way, the integration with Home Assistant and the Alexa skill will map properly. Evidently, even though Ultra Pro uses the exact same systems as Tuya, the accounts are different and I was not able to integrate Home Assistant to the Ultra Pro app, only the Tuya one.For around $16/switch, everything just… works. Alexa integration, HA integration work. After adding your first switch, the others are incredibly easy. I installed the switch, went two flights of stairs down to the breaker box, flipped the breaker on, and while I was scaling the stairs back up, launched the Smart Life app… it auto-detected the new switch, I then added it to my Wi-Fi (with the already-cached SSID and key), and suggested a software update. All I had to do was acknowledge the update and name it/assign it to a “room.”Know that when it boots up, there are no options to hard set a static IP address. Also, when it loads, all of them advertise their hostname as “wlan0” – so on my Firewalla and Omada networking, if I don’t do them one at a time, I have no way of differentiating one from another. So do them one at a time, if possible.Size on installation is not bad, either. Some of the earlier Z-wave and other GE/Leviton/Lutron stuff I’ve installed before barely fit inside the box, or had side tabs so intrusive they wouldn’t allow side-by-side installs. Not these… they’re bulky, sure, but not as bulky as the older generation of device.

Works great
When using as three way switch, both switches need 120v power

This smart switch cannot replace a conventional 3-way switch
I bought this wifi smart switch to replace a conventional 3-way switch. I had to have an electrician pull a neutral wire to my junction box since this device will not work without it. I was the impression that this switch would operate in a similar way as a conventional 3-way switch but after several calls to technical support, I was told that thus switch would not work with my existing wiring. You see, if you want to use this switch in a 3-way circuit, it has to be wired in a specific way.Fortunately, I found a different brand 3-way wifi smart switch that does actually replace a conventional 3-way switch. And like most switches, this one also required a neutral wire in order to work.I will say that I’ve used other Ultra products like smart plugs with no problem. But in this particular case, their smart switch was not appropriate for my particular situation.

Great WiFi switch
Easy installation and app setup. Works perfectly. I use it to operate a dock light at our lake home. I can turn the light on from the house, and turn it off after boarding the boat. Very convenient.

This a great device with great directions
The diagram in the picture makes it easy to trace wires (even if the colors don’t correspond- like in my case). Really easy to hook up<10 min
