Best fan AND light decor format smart dimmer 👍
This is by far the best design on the market for a smart fan/light dimmer switch. I have compared countless manufacturers including Lutron, Leviton, Modern Forms, WeMo/Belkin and others. This dimmer has independent fan AND light controls in a single gang format that is affordable and stands alone against other dimmers in the “smart switch” market.TL;DR: Best combo fan/light smart dimmer available. Responsive customer support. No hidden “gotcha” issues.Installed 2-Jan-2020.Experiences thus far …Strengths:👍 Easy Install – Safety first. Always cut the power breaker off before you start! Also, as noted, this dimmer requires a neutral connection. Check that you have a “white” wire in your box before you order. Most have it but check. Even if your original switch isn’t connected to the neutral wire (not typically required of standard dimmers) you can tap into what’s in the box so long as it’s there (likely found as a bundle of white wires). The Treatlife dimmer has standard color coded wires with convenient labels for reconnecting or installing the switch. I was able to remove the original manual slider controls box (Lutron) and replace with the the Treatlife dimmer within 20 minutes.👍 Great/easy integration with Amazon Alexa – Once connected Alexa discovered the fan and light as separate devices with accurate device types (“fan” and “light”). I was able to easily add these to Alexa groups (rooms) and routines with just a few clicks. As a “light” device the the Treatlife is automatically included when you say “turn on/off the lights in here” for group control from an Alexa device. Documentation says it supports Google Home also but we don’t use that and I haven’t tested it.👍 Easy WiFi connection – Connecting to the 2.4Ghz wifi was quick and easy. My mobile was likely on the 5Ghz network but I use the same SSID for 2.4 and 5. Pairing to the 2.4Ghz was easy for me.👍 Consolidated App – As a Tuya compatible device I was able to add this switch to my existing Smart Life app without having to install a new app or create a new ID. The Treatlife app appears to offer all the same features, including firmware updates. Using either looks to work just fine which is great!👍 Intuitive controls – Controlling two devices with only four buttons might be a challenge. Treatlife has solved it! If both devices (fan & light) are on, a simple double tap on the fan or light button allows you to make adjustments (bright/dim or faster/slower) easily. Dim LED indicators give you a visual reference to how the current brightness/speed depending on which device is being controlled. This is a great feature!👍 Quick support response – I had no issue with the dimmer but did have a question about a promotional insert. support@treatlife.tech responded with a personal message within 20 minutes on a Saturday evening. Wow!Weaknesses:Haven’t found any. I’ll update this section over the coming weeks/months if I see anything.Considerations:These points are only worth considering as you look at what works for your situation. None are weaknesses as they’re all clearly mentioned in the dimmer specs.• Supports 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi only. Common requirement for most devices. Most home WiFi supports this and is actually best for devices in rooms beyond where you have an access point. Don’t worry about it, just be aware.• Doesn’t support Apple HomeKit. Really hope to see a future bridge or hub that can add this support but for now… 😕.• Good mix of other switches and devices. When you start down the smart switch path you’re investing in an “eco-system” of devices. Treatlife has several great solutions beyond the dimmer. They also integrate with other Tuya/Smart Life based products which brings a vast array of device options into a single app solution.Happy to answer questions. Just post a comment.

Works great to control both a Ceiling Fan and Light in ONE dual switch.
As many others seem to say, “I have been looking for a smart switch that controls both the fan and light”. Till now I had to buy separate smart switches to control both. This switch works great in fact I purchased a second one with in a month of installing the first. Install was very easy as the wires on the back of the switch are identified as to their function so you won’t mistake which to connect to your home wires. To install this switch to control both fan and light, first turn the breaker off for your switch. You can tag all the wires with the included stickers showing what they control. You need a hot/Line/power wire usually black to feed the electric to both the light and fan through the switch and you need a Neutral Wire usually white. They will attach to the black and white wires from the switch with the wire nuts provided. You will also need a ground wire usually green or bare copper which attaches to the green wire from switch. You then need load wires which are the wires coming from the light and fan. The fan power wire will connect to the yellow wire from switch and the light load wire will connect to the red wire from the switch. Now your switch is wired. The neutral wire and ground wire from the light and fan get attached to the ones from the switch and line/power wires. All neutral wires are connected together and all ground wires are connected together. I usually connect the wires together with wire caps like the ones provided and I then usually use electrical tape to wrap around the wires and the cap holding them together. Electrical tape comes in colors so I use the color that matches the wire for easy identification. Keep in mind this double switch is probably bigger then one you may be replacing in wall, so the switch and wires will all need to fit in the electric box in your wall.I could not find what the warranty on the switch was and so I contacted Treatlife via email as it is the only way to contact them. I got contacted by their tech, Frank Chire, who told me the warranty on the switches was 1 year. He was very helpful with other questions I had and made me feel that if anything went wrong with the switches or I had any other questions or concerns he would take care of them. The switches integrate with Alexa as well as other switches I have installed. You need to download the Smart Life app to your phone and if you want the switch to work with Alexa then you need to enable the Smart life skill in the Alexa app. The switch was detected by the app without any issues. Once installed on the app you can change the switches name and don’t forget to name the individual light and fan switches to something that makes sense to what they control and where they are located. The switch has a light built in which works opposite of most in the sense that if the light or fan is on the internal light is lit. If the fan or switch is off the internal light for that switch is off. I like a lighted switch so I can see it in the dark to turn it on, this defeats that purpose. If you are using it with Alexa then you can just tell Alexa to turn it on. It is a bit bright. This can hopefully be fixed with a software/firmware update that will allow the app to set when the internal light goes on based on the switches state on or off and it should also allow the option to have it off all the time. The other issue I have is the dimmer at the top is shared between both switches which is a bit cumbersome. It may be a nice design change to have you hold the individual switch down on the bottom of that switch to lower it and the top of the switch, (it would be like a rocker switch), to raise.Overall the best switch on the market for controlling both the fan and light of a ceiling fan and at a very good price. The Treatlife DS03 Fan and Light combined switch Pros and Cons:Pros:Easy Install with the wires marked as to their function. Two switches in one.Works well with Alexa for making a smart home.Low price for a smart switch.Tech support from my interaction seems to care about customer satisfaction.Everything but screw drivers are included, Switch, Cover Plate, Wire nuts, and labels for your wires.1 year warranty.Cons are all just my personal feelings and do not affect the switches operation:The internal light on the switches is not controllable as to when or if it is on and works opposite of what I am used to.The single dimmer portion of the switch is a bit cumbersome to use.Treatlife can only be contacted via email no phone number.I will revisit this review if the switches give me any issues. For now 5 stars. Great value.

This switch is great, sadly I cannot say the same for their other switches
So, this was the 1st TreatLife switch I bought. I purchased it to replace a failing old Fan/Light Switch. I loved it. And, it looked so attractive, and was easy to use!Because it worked great, it convinced me to get TreatLife switches for all the other rooms in my home. And, … this was where my nightmare began.(1) Their 3way switches are very poorly designed. And, I mean VERY poorly.(2) They are not UL or ETL certified, so many electricians will not touch them. And, due to design flaws, these switches may be hazardous in your home.(3) They have a high amount of leakage on the common line. (as in can damage other items on the same breaker high.)(4) They do not work with all bulbs. Now, they state lots of “gotchas” in their small print to get around the above. Like only 1 treatlife switch per breaker circuit (as if). And, will not work with Smart Bulbs (oh, and a whole long list of low wattage bulbs). That their 3ways are non-“standard” (as in they do not function to code). And so on.Sadly I spent 550$ in switches, and 1K plus trying to get electricians to help solve all the issues caused by these switches. In the end, I exceeded my return date while trying to get these switches to work. There customer service was “responsive”, but not helpful. And, they strung me along until the return date was past, then they just disappeared. There are better alternatives out there (ie. like KASA switches both on Amazon and at Home Depot.)

During our renovations we bought a cheap Harbor Breeze ceiling fan from Lowes. It was wired by the contractor with pull chains on a single switch (yuck). I was skeptical this switch would be able to work with it — especially the ability to dim the light/fan speed. However, I read a couple other reviews and I had neutral wires running into the switch box, so thought I would give it a go.It works like a charm. The instructions were well laid out, and the wire labels were really helpful while I was trying to figure out how to rewire the fan (to avoid the pull chains). I hooked it up to our google home (there is a smart speaker in that room) and now we can control light dimmer and fan speed with our voice. Pretty cool party trick! The google home setup was a little awkward (it shows up as two separate devices, and the name of the light switch defaulted to some Chinese characters) – but once I noticed the two new devices, I was able to control everything easily.Go for it.

Installation was same difficulty as all of these smart switches. Automated control is pretty straight forward but the manual control is very different than the old “analogue” switch that was there. This requires button combinations (you have to remember to double tap the mode) to set the switch to which mode your dimming/speed adjustments are going to affect (fan vs light). The old switch was just two simple sliders, one labelled “light” the other “fan”. Not a big deal, but different.

My existing Fan/light combo unit had wall mount remote controller with single (14/2) L/N/G wire from wall switch to fan. There was a remote control unit in the fan canopy controlled by the wall switch to separately control fan/light. I removed the canopy remote unit and ran a second 14/2 cable from switch location to fan canopy. I then used this Smart Switch to separately control the Fan/Lights. The original 14/2: L (Black) carried Fan Load, N (White) was Fan Neutral. The new 14/2: L (Black) carried Lighting Load, N was unused.I set up the Smart Fan/Light Dimmer using Smart Life App and then configured in the Alexa App on my phone. I can now voice control separately via Alexa the Light On/Off and Light 10-100% and also Fan On/Off and Speed 1-4. Overall I’m really happy with my purchase and the unit works excellently and reliably. My light is LED bulb and has no flicker with this dimmer and excellent dimming range. I did go on to add 4 x LED Pot Lights connected to the same lighting load L (Black) wire in the canopy. So now the 4 x Pot Lights plus the Fan LED light all turn on/off & dim together. Original canopy bulb was one of those 75mm long halogen tube bulbs – I replaced it with an LED replacement bulb.As noted, I had a wall mount remote switch with canopy mounted remote unit. The above procedure would also work if you had a standard wall switch and a hand held remote controlling a canopy mounted unit. In both cases you definitely need a neutral present at the switch location as the feed side of the Smart Fan/Dimmer needs to receive L (Black) and N (White). Original canopy unit goes in the garbage when you’re done.

I saw this item on a tech review video and thought it was a great idea. I ordered it immediately. Some people might think it’s pricey, but because this smart switch controls two things – I think it’s a justified price? The original wiring in my house was a little pesky (that’s what happens when black wires are used for everything!), so it took a few attempts. After figuring the wiring and snapping everything into place – the light switch didn’t work, but the fan switch turned on the fan and the light. I couldn’t control them separately via the switch, app or Google Assistant Because it’s summer (and I have no air-conditioning) I decided to live with it and use the pull chain for the light, since the fan is always on for the most part. I did like that I was able to control it from the phone, and set schedules/routines. However, hours later I discovered that something in the wiring in my light switch impacted the electricity in the stairwell and another bedroom. Not sure why it was wired like that, but that caused the cons to outweigh the pros.It is a quality product, but since my original wiring wasn’t straightforward – I guess it just wasn’t meant for me. Maybe if I knew more about how wiring works across multiple rooms and had more free time to troubleshoot it could’ve worked out. Thanks though!

I installed this a few days ago to control an older-model ceiling fan and light at my cottage. The installation went well and the switch connected to my wifi without any significant problems.I needed this wifi-controlled switch because I plan to turn on my electric fan heaters remotely to warm the cottage up before I arrive, which usually takes at least a few hours or even longer if it’s cold. The fan is perched high in the vaulted ceiling and is necessary to mix the warm and cold air. The wifi thermostat for the forced air fan heaters (Sinope TH11124WF, reviewed separately on Amazon) also works quite well.I really like the app (called Treatlife). It’s pretty slick; as good as I’ve used with my many wifi devices. In fact, I liked the app enough that when I went to replace another light switch, I bought a Treatlife product so I can use the same app. I now have over a dozen proprietary wifi apps, which can get to be cumbersome, so I’m starting to buy products from manufacturers that I know and like for both their products and their apps.It seemed a little expensive for what it is, but it works well so I’m satisfied.Regards, Mark
