    Definitely perfect for my application
    My house was custom-built for me 13 years ago. I finally decided to install a ceiling fan in a guest bedroom that is rather small. The home builder made a small error in that his electrician installed a 3-gang wall switch electrical junction box in this bedroom instead of a 2-gang box. One of the switches is the recessed ceiling lights, leaving the other two positions for the ceiling fan. Now everybody knows that ceiling fan switches are all combination switches whereby one switch has controls for both the light and the fan. This presents a cosmetic problem for the guest bedroom because had I used the combination wall switch, then the third position within the electrical box would either have to be a switch that does nothing, or a blank flat insert (I cannot explain that any better). Over these past 13 years, I just had two switches there that did nothing. But installing the ceiling fan would finally complete the room, so to solve the wall switch problem, I looked for a separate light dimmer switch and fan dimmer switch. I found these by TOPGREENER. I am uploading an identical review for the other switch. I am very happy with both products. Both were easy to install, work correctly, feel good to click through the various detents, and are visually appealing. Recommend !

    great switch for my situation
    I had to replace the light switches (that I just recently replaced) with these because the other switch would cause the lights in my daughters room to turn off when the electric water heater was on. The little flucuation in power would cause the switches to lock up. I replaced them with these and now everything works properly. Great switch for the price, I wish that I had bought these first, then I wouldn’t be in the hole $180 from the other switches (bought 3 $60 switches before buying these).

    Top form and function
    I installed six of these switches in my home several months ago and have been very satisfied with their performance so far. Aesthetically, I like the fact that there are no exposed openings along the switch ‘tracks’, as is the case with pretty much every other design I’ve seen – this makes for a modern, sleek look to my eye. This design should also help keep the switches cleaner long term, as there are no crevasses for dirt to potentially enter. Functionally, these switches have been working out great and feel solidly constructed. I did need to make a warranty claim for one of them, but TopGreener support made it easy to secure a replacement. If I was to nit-pick about anything, it might be nice if the “fan” and “light” icons on the switch had some level of contrast with the surrounding switch (to make it easier to tell which switch is which) but that could arguably detract from the aesthetics…either way, its not much of an issue in practice. Definitely recommend!

    Don’t Bother!!!
    I usually don’t pay too much attention to negative reviews. However, some of the negative reviews for this product is warranted. The switch seems to be fairly well made by physical examination. However, it does not preform as well as it looks.The fan speed in the no. 1 position barely moves the fan at all. The no. 2 position works like it should on the no. 1 setting and the no. 3 position does not operate at the highest fan speed. Basically, all fan speeds when using the switch are considerably slower than the designed fan speeds.The light dimmer only works in the upper half of the slider range. This causes the light dimmer to be extremely touchy due to the limited slider range of travel that actually works.Keep in mind, this was installed on a new Hunter fan with LED light. It still did not work as advertised. It was also installed as the instructions indicated. This switch is not worth your time and frustration. I recommend if you still decide to buy this switch, install it immediately so you can return it within the return window when it does not work.

    Broke after a month of use
    Installation was easy. Quality *seemed* okay after installation, but after a month of use in my daughter’s bedroom, the light portion of the switch broke. Even if it had been heavily used, I’d expect it to last a year, so I can’t recommend this product.

    It worked for a little over three months!
    Absolutely crazy, it worked fine for a little over three months and then just quit. This is an Ivory colored switch. Although I did not measure the voltage, my beeper detected voltage at the light, but no illumination. Swapped light fixture first with same results, so just changed out the switch with a Leviton and I’m back in business.Bummer that the return window is only 30 days, so since three months is more than that it is non-returnable. I would expect this type of item to be covered at least six months.To be fair, I had previously installed a gray one of the same make and model that gets as much or more use and it is still working fine.
