I recently replaced a bathroom halogen light fixture with a 3-light LED dimmable fixture. The manufacturer provided zero information on what to use for a dimmer switch, so I picked one at random from Leviton, a well-known manufacturer. Unfortunately, that made the light flicker at a couple of Hz or so about half the time I turned the light on, which was very annoying.There is apparently no way of knowing which dimmer is compatible with which LED fixture unless the manufacturer tells you, so you are pretty much left to guessing. This particular device was available free to me and turned out to work just fine without flickering. My only nit is that it didnât come in white. However, I needed two more and the company sells a white version for about $25 per 2-pack â a great price compared to the competition. I have at this point installed three of those and they all work fine without flickering.

Functional and versatile dimmer switch for interior lighting.
This dimmer switch is adaptable for Incandescent and halogen bulbs, dimmable CFL bulbs, and dimmable LED bulbs with the simple setting of a toggle selector switch. Installation is pretty straight forward for either a single pole (single switch) application like ours or a 3-way application (where two or more light switches are connected to the lights being controlled). The printed instructions are pretty clear for both applications, but you will need to give close attention to the 3-way application. I particularly like the options for connecting the wiring to this device: straight wires can be inserted into the back of the device and screws tightened to secure them (my preferred method) or the wires can be wrapped about the wiring screws on the side of the device (see photo). Optionally, a minimum light level can be set depending on the type of light bulbs being controlled and a small LED light can be set to illuminate the switch location so it can be more easily found in a darkened room (although the plastic selection switch on ours broke).Overall, this is a good option for a dimmer switch because of its versatility in the type of lights it can control. The nickel color of this item may be a bit limiting, however.

Very well made and has good clear installation instructions. Easy to install. Safety tip: Make sure to shut off power before installation. I like that the face plate snaps on for a clean look without screws showing. The dimmer works perfectly and will hold the setting when the switch is turned off. I’m very happy with this switch and highly recommend it.

This dimmer switch does not offer advanced dimming effects, which means the functionality is pretty basic. Additionally, this dimmer lacks Wi-Fi connectivity, so it cannot be integrated into a smart home system for remote control or automation.Considering the lack of features it offers, better alternatives are available in the market at a similar price point, providing more advanced capabilities and more excellent value.
