Incomplete instructions to wire 110v plug-Resolved
I purchased a blind to test and see how well it worked and if I wanted to purchase more. My test purchase arrived and was in good shape. I got the 110v Alexa version which requires it to be plugged into an outlet. It comes with what looks like a 3 foot cord and plug that needs to be attached to the end. The problem is, there are 3 wires, Red, Black, and Yellow, but only 2 are needed for the plug. Why are there 3 and which 2 do I attach to the plug? The instructions I got do not mention this at all.Update: on Jun 7, 2024, TIPIACE responded with an image of how the plug should be wired. I responded with how their image did not match up with what I had and they immediately responded by saying that the yellow wire is a ground and is not needed at the plug. With that, I installed the blind, linked it to the app on my phone, and quickly had Alexa controlling the blind. Alexia does not seem to have the automation ability so that must be set up in the “Tuya Amart” app where I am trying to figure out how the 0-100% works as it seems to swap between the blind being 0 % open and 100% open in the settings.I installed this 36″ wide blind in my laundry room window which faces east and when down and does a nice job of blocking the morning sun in the room. As this is an “inside” blind it will not a full “blackout” the window, as with most roll up blinds light will come in around the edges. You might be able do better with one that mounts outside of the window where curtains would go.I will be ordering more of these blinds, including 2 x 72″ wide ones.
