Syncing the app to the hub. Meh.
The directions are “Right” but could be better. Yellow light, red light, blue light blinking. I thought I was following the instructions with the red light changing to yellow blinking. NADA, nothing, zip. I RESET the unit and it was easy. There’s a short reset and a long one. The long one worked. The hub doesn’t seem to penetrate a wall all that great. I had to move the hub around to get it to see the switch. The switch itself was simple. No issues at all. Once the hub was online connecting to Alexa was easy, but getting the hub up and running was harder than it should have been. “IF” , fingers crossed this holds up, I will be buying 2 more switches. The switch I mounted this on, is the most important one. As the switch is just a on/off device it should work with any hub. So, if the hub becomes problematic, I can try a different one.Edit, 12/21/24. Still keeping the 4 stars. I have a total of 3 of these things. 2 are on an unheated porch and last night the temp. was in the teens. Went out on noon, and the outside lights they control were still on. The Alexa app had them unresponsive. I clicked them off in the app and they went off. Either the cold temp (about 20 min. after dawn) sapped the batteries or the electric motor isn’t lubbed for low temps. I’m going to check the batteries now when it’s in the high 20s and tomorrow when it might be in the single digits. It just might be them. If not, I can set an Alexa skill to automate a Click/Click around 10 AM. everyday during the winter.

How to have a Wifi switch without any electrical work
This is a simple but very effective way to switch on and off using wifi.The beauty is that you don’t have to replace an existing switch with another, and rewire it, but just adjust this system to the existing wall switch: no trouble, especially is you’re renting.Fantastic and reliable solution.

Hard to configure and doesn’t work well
The first hub didn’t work, they send me a new one it works but the lack of instructions it is hard to configure it, I couldn’t my self, I had to ask my husband that it is a computer engineering for help after few tryings he did it. Add the switch was easy but the app is outdated if you compare it to other WiFi switch. The on off configuration doesn’t work turns on but not off after turning on off for over 40 times finally it turn off that’s by the app because directly pressing the button works fantastic. The problem is the application to manage it remotely. Needs to improve the App.

I changing my review to 5 stars after I reached out to Third Reality they emailed me about this issue and they looked into it. They recertified the certificate for the cloud and that fixed the issue I was having, so great job Third Reality and now I am pleased with the product. (So I bought 2 of these, the first Hub and switch worked fine the second Hub and switch was a nightmare because it took me forever to finally get the Hub connected to the App, but now the switch keeps timing out and won’t connect to either Hub and you can’t update the hubs. I tried to connect motion sensors to either one of the Hubs and they won’t connect either but the switches and sensors will connect to Alexa Zigbee hub luckily. So I have one with one switch connected to the first Third Reality hub I bought and the second one connected to Alexa hub. In my opinion it is not worth buying the Hub and switch combo if the Hubs are faulty, it could be the last update to the App that messed up the Hubs so I started a return for the last Hub and switch combo because I don’t want to pay extra for a hub that won’t connect any devices. I am not happy with this product.)

I had a bit of difficulty pairing the switch to the hub as it failed to connect. You just need to update the hub to the lated firmware and connection works well. I was able to have the switch work with Alexa and Google. So setting up routines in Alexa will work.
