Doesn’t work with Home Assistant properly
I’ve emailed Martin Jerry but have yet to hear a response. It always thinks it’s on when it’s off.Issuing light on and off service calls from Home Assistant work half of the time and when there is any response at all their behavior is often backwards.I tried switching to ESPHome firmware but now it won’t connect to ESPHome and the Wifi AP it puts up won’t allow me to join it to fix it. Close to declaring this product a lost investment. At least it wasn’t too expensive.Needs some serious work before I’d say it’s ready for use with Home Assistant.

Received two used and defective switches from MJ
This looks like it would be the perfect solution to my needs, but twice now I have received used, defective products. (Latex wall paint on them, dirty, marks around the mounting brackets.) I assume dishonest people are ordering then returning their out-of-warranty and broken units. Regardless, Martin Jerry has a responsibility to inspect returned products before sending them out as new. I’ve bought multiple switches from them, but I’m losing faith in the brand.UPDATE: The third time was the charm. Brand new and properly flashed. HOWEVER, Tasmota does not really work with this hardware. After spending 12 hours testing and debugging I’ve come to the conclusion that the Tasmota Tuya driver simply does not work well with this hardware. It can toggle the light and set the dimming, but it cannot set the state directly (e.g. “power on” and “power off” always toggle the switch.) I’ve already returned two of these, so not going to return a third. If you’re looking for Tasmota support in a solid state dimmer, this is not the answer. Avoid. Or if you get it working, let me know!

ESPHome works, seems like a good dimmer so far, but the status LEDs aren’t bright enough.
I got this dimmer because I wanted to load ESPhome and this one already has Tasmota on it. Loading ESPHome wasn’t as straight forward as I hoped but it’s doable by loading the Tasmota tasmota-minimal.bin.gz build first, then loading a basic ESPHome bin file (might need to gzip this bin as well). Overall the switch seems okay but the status LEDs are way too dim. I can’t see them at all unless it’s pitch black. the pictures are miss leading in this way. see my attached pictures for what it looks like. Also, I want to monitor this switch over time because the faceplate seems to get warm even when the light is not on. As for the YAML for this switch, this is the key information needed to make this work in ESPHome:uart: rx_pin: GPIO3 tx_pin: GPIO1 baud_rate: 9600tuya:light: – platform: “tuya” name: Dimmer us_sd_tc01 dimmer_datapoint: 2 switch_datapoint: 1 min_value: 2 max_value: 255

Good Dimmer, but not a complete Tasmota integration.
The dimmer works great, and is easy to use. The tasmota firmware functionality is incomplete, the on/off function does not work properly. This makes the Homa Assistant integraion poor for this reason. Still needs some work, will have to return it.

Obviously used product sold as new unacceptable
Come on, don’t resend returned items as new. It was obviously damaged and used. Losing faith in this brand after this incident and the recent failure of two other Martin Jerry switches after only 15 months.
