    Flawed, but absolutely fantastic for the price
    While these aren’t perfect, they’re (mostly) super simple to set up. I bought these explicitly for HomeKit compatibility, and aside from a small hitch in setup (which I’d known about from other Sylvania Smart+ / LEDVANCE products), they function exactly as expected.Good: * HomeKit support and BlueTooth mesh – I like having pure local control over devices. * Decent color handling. I have no interest in color strobing effects, just color temperature, and these have dual cool/warm white LEDs that make getting the color tone right much better to match overhead lighting. * Strips are well-sealed – unsure of IP rating but I would assume they’re at least IP65. * 5 color – RGB on the larger LED, cool white and warm white on discrete LEDsMediocre: * Sylvania app support is rough. You have to “enable” these first using the “Sylvania Smart Home” app before adding in the Home app if you’re HomeKit, and you’ll waste time if you accidentally get the “Sylvania Smart WiFi” app which can *not* recognize these – while that may seem obvious, the “WiFi” app comes up first on search and you may not expect different apps to be used. The correct app is also pretty un-obvious – refers to “Select your smart home Speaker”, but will correctly update/enable lighting. * Low LED count of about 20 LED “groups” per meter. Not unexpected given price, but it’d be nice if they were denser for better diffusion. * Can be a little slow to respond since they’re BlueTooth – seems like they may have a “sleep” period since changing settings happens pretty quickly if they’re soon after an initial change, but can be a little pokey for the first one.Bad: * There’s no physical switch override on the controller. This is a pretty big oversight in my opinion – the LED driver should have at least a small button to power the strip on/off physically.

    Product does not work. I have 3 none work according to add
    I just received an email from AMAZON RETURN that I am supposed to return this defective product by May 3rd or I am going to be charged the cost.. this was after I talked to their customer support and explained to him that so far I have 3 same defective product that was supposedly all replacement of my iriginal oder that does not work,, so since they cannot resolved this issues I was told that they will send me a reimbursement of the product so, I asked him what I should do with all this defective product that I have with me, he stated to either throw it away or call their supplier to have them removed the issue. I called their supplier but their customer support wants me to send them the product with my expense for shipping so that they can test themselves, I decided to not do that cause I am not going to spend my money to pay for their defective product for their own testing..I was planning of using it as under cabinet lights. Not recommended for anything.

    Bright and Trimmable!!!
    I hope this helps someone but I looked through several different outdoor options for LED strip, which I installed underneath my deck railing, and this was the best one for the following reasons:- It is incredibly bright, which adds enough ambience lighting for us to see while we’re on the deck- The light is encased within a clear resin that is waterproof, which proved itself during several storms- It is TRIMMABLE!!! Look at the LED strip closely and you will notice where the individual strips are joined (about every 19 inches each) as there is a clear cut. You can also look at the LED strip from the bottom side and see a darker orange/brown spot every 19 inches – this will indicate the same places you can cut. Use a pair of scissors for a clean cut here, then seal the end with a clear waterproof silicone (GE Advanced Clear Silicone or Lexel Clear Silicone). Let it cure per instruction and you will have a working LED strip!!!- I simply connected this to a smart outdoor plug (e.g. Wyze Outdoor Plug) and scheduled the lighting through the app- Super easy to install with the clips and screws, just be sure you pull on it tight so there’s no sagging during installation

    Nice quality product works as advertised. RGB-W. The 3-M tape has great adhesion, smooth hard clean surface recommended. I wipe the surface with alcohol, let dry for a few minutes. Haven’t had one come loose. Suggest assemble everything first, plug into AC outlet last.

    Mixed up model numbers
    I think there’s a mix of new and old stock for these light strips at the Amazon warehouse.. I ordered one set that came with a 5 pin connector and had model number 74521 on the tag. Second set I ordered came with 6 pin connector and model number 75575 on the tag. The first set (74521) does NOT work with the expansion kit. If you look at the expansion kit listing they even have 5 pin connectors on the box but the product image has 6. So I think they switched products at some point and just have a mix of stock – big headache! but at least I figured it out.That being said these lights paired just fine with my HomeKit set up. They’re bright and colorful and work nicely with my other Sylvania bluetooth bulbs. I wish they had a way to set “scenes” or to have a transitioning color option… I’ve only been able to set one color and it just stays that color. Even cheap-o basic led lights come with rainbow transition effect options. I suppose I can set up automations in HomeKit to change the color but that’ll be a pain.
