Easy setup and configuration – Timer functions flawlessly
I have this timer setup to control a water pump. Setup was easy using an app on my smart phone. To overcome the 15A switching limitation, I have the timer wired into a larger solid state relay that controls our pump. Outside of the obvious wiring work that took place, setup of the control itself took just a few minutes.I like that the status of the switch is clearly indicated on the housing. Another great feature is that the timer can be turned on and off on demand, both using the smart phone controls and through a button press on the device itself.The scheduling function within the app allows for countdown operation, set daily schedules, random and astronomical triggers. I’m certain this device will have widespread application and value to other users. Good solid product, don’t hesitate to pick one up for yourself.

Works now, but wiring diagram could be clearer
Updated:I have updated this from 1 star to 4, you can see my original review below. It turns out it was a wiring issue. The seller reached out and sent along a picture of the correct way to hook it up (I attached it here). It works now, except there still isnât a blue LED light indicating that the unit is turned off. I only gave 4 stars, because I donât the think the wiring diagram included with the switch is as clear as it could be. Turns out that I had attached the 2 black wires to the same Line terminal and the red wire to my Load terminal. Turns out the correct way to wire it is connecting the two blacks and capping them off, then connecting the Red âLoadâ wire to the Line terminal. Now granted Iâm not an electrician, but I donât understand this wiring setup, but it works now. So, if you are having this issue, hopefully this helps.Original:I got this to hook up to an outside box that I have holiday decorations hooked up to, I’ve gotten sick of having to either leave them on all the time or manually plug and unplug them. When I saw this product I thought it would solve my problem, unfortunately it really hasn’t. Installation wasn’t too bad and if you can hook directly up to your box this comes with everything you’ll need. Because my house has siding that isn’t flat I wasn’t able to hook up directly. The good news is that the timer works to turn off devices that are already on, but once turned off by the timer they cannot be turned back on by it. Since this is outside, this is hooked up to a GFCI outlet and when the timer turns off it trips the outlet. Once tripped I have to physically go outside and reset it, just to have it do it again with the next scheduled power off. Also, I cannot reset the outlet unless I go into the app and turn off the timer. The instructions say that the LED should be red when turned on and blue when turned off. As you can see in my video, when turned on there is no color on the LED, and when it shuts off the LED turns red. So I’m not sure if maybe I got a bad unit or if something else is going on, but even the LEDs aren’t working how they are supposed to. Since this still results in me having to go outside to manually reset the outlet, this product is useless for me.

The SURAIELEC 15 AMP WiFi Smart Timer Switch initially performed well, offering features like scheduling, countdowns, and random timers for outdoor devices via the Smart Life app. Its weatherproof design and straightforward installation were appealing. However, significant issues emerged that overshadowed its functionality. Connectivity problems arose after just a few weeks, and the unintuitive GUI made it inconvenient to determine the device’s status without additional steps.Most concerning is the lack of any electrical safety certifications such as UL, CSA, or ETL markings, which raises serious questions about its safety and compliance with industry standards. Combined with its unreliable performance and poorly designed interface, this unit is not recommended, especially given the $29.99 price point. Safety and reliability should be non-negotiable for any electrical device, and this product falls short on both fronts.

Good quality plastic used to make the box weather proof. The electronics seem durable and feel like they are decent quality. I have this on a 220 drop and its working perfectly. No complaints.

Efficient and Reliable
I installed this WiFi smart timer switch to control my landscape lights, water fountains, and outdoor kitchen lighting, and it has worked flawlessly. The setup was straightforward, and connecting to the WiFi through the Tuya Smart Life app was easy as i already have other devices connected through tuya app. I love the convenience of remote control and scheduling, which saves both time and energy. I haven’t configured to Alexa or google assistant but will be adding it shortly. The weatherproof design is a great feature, ensuring it stands up to the elements. The 15 AMP capacity is perfect for my all outdoor devices at the outlet level. This timer switch is a fantastic solution for automating and enhancing outdoor lighting while boosting energy efficiency.
