    Perfect for my application
    The Sonoff Basic R2 worked perfect for my application. I had purchased a candle warmer that had two problems: the cord was too short and there was no timer. In case you don’t know, a candle warmer is basically a decorative hot plate that melts the wax of a candle to release the fragrance. To remedy the situation, I purchased the Sonoff Basic R2 and a GE Lamp Cord Set. I didn’t really have to cut the cord on the candle warmer because it had one of those in-line roller switches. I just removed the switch and attached the cord to the output of the Sonoff. I then attached the GE lamp cord to the input side. Now I have an 8+ foot cord for the candle warmer. Problem #1 solved!Next, I flashed the Sonoff Basic R2 with Tasmota. Tasmota is a 3rd party firmware that allows the Sonoff to work locally and a whole bunch of other stuff. I configured it with “PulseTime1 7300”. I can now say, “Alexa, turn on the wax warmer” and it will turn on and automatically shut off after two hours. Pretty cool… For the right application, this is a good inexpensive smart switch.

    It works well as advertised after longer than expected server connection. It is cheaper than those units which work with Smart Life, but should expect much longer server connection thru Internet. In about 1 week, one unit’s LED failed, but it still works electrically.

    Reliable and robust.
    Bought as replacement for other brand wifi-switches and plugs, that failed or plain burned out. I have other sonoff’s that have withstood all kinds of stuff, I have serious power and voltage problems, black outs, peaks, anything that can go wrong with electricity will happen around here and these are still going strong.

    Bought four of them and using them for a month now. All I can say that I am so happy with the product. My wife is legally blind, so i was looking for something so that she can turn the lamps on and off easily/remotely.. I set them on my living room, bed room and office room. They are working wonderfully so far. Very easy to install and to connect to the wifi. I have them connected to the Google home as well, so that we can use them with voice command.My only complain is, if the price would be little bit lower then that would be great. More people could (including me) afford them. I bought four more from somewhere else. Already set them up.I am happy. Now looking forward to buy Sonoff wall switch if i can find anywhere cheap price.

    I have spent a few years perfecting my home automation setup with my google homes. And these cheap Sonoff modules work wonders. Once you figure out the kinks of getting an Sonoff/eWeLink account setup and tied to your google command stuff. They work wonders. Also, always check and do the updates for the modules thru eWeLink, they now added local lan control, so supposedly they should still work if their network is down.These are super handy as temporary triggers or timers as well. Get a good 2 prong extension cord and splice the unit in between, and you got handy controllable wifi switches for your holiday needs.
