    Good reliable product
    I have owned and installed 8 of these switches in my house. The first time I did it I had no electrical experience so I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos to get a little understanding on how switches in general work. That being said with time and patience I figured it out. Now if you are familiar with all this I would definitely say installation is quite simple. It comes with everything you need there are no functional design problems with this product. However it is bulkier than your regular non wifi switch so be prepared to make space for that by shortening wires. So everything fits in the box.Once that was done you just install the app and it will walk you through the install. The switches run off of 2.4ghz. Every router has two different options. 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Now if you have a router that displays both options in your list of wifi options. Just select the 2.4 the app will prompt you to use that. If you are like me and have an updater router that only has one option there is an option to switch pairing mode from EZ mode to AP mode. AP MODE will allow you to connect your phone to the devices wifi signal. The signal won’t be strong so you may get a notification that say to switch to your regular wifi just select stay connected and as soon as you go back to the app it will start pairing.Like I said I have installed a bunch of these over time and paired them all with my Alexa devices.. These switches are an affordable price and they work just as well as the lutron. P.S I would not use them for fan switches use switches that are designated for fan use.. Hope this helps.

    Full featured low price sockets.
    Both sockets controllable via app. Not many wifi sockets offer this and great price as well. Easy to wire up. Nice finish. Decent app.The only downside is getting the initial pairing to your wifi network. Many reviewers have noted the inaccurate and lackng documentation. Double frustrating is none of the reviewers or manufacturer took the time to mention how they got it to work.So here goes: the supplied instructions (and Smart Life app itself) will tell you to long press button on your device for 5 seconds until indicator light quickly flashes. But there is no indicator lights on these sockets. What works is to press and hold either of the small power buttons on the face of the socket for 5 seconds. For me i heard an audible click from the socket after 5 seconds. Once you’ve let go, return to the app and click the blue ‘Confirm indicator rapidly blink’ button and the device will start pairing. Took a full minute or so for me before it returned successfully paired.Also note that this (like many other newer smart devices) wont pair with a 5ghz network. This is not normally a problem unless (like me) you have an Orbi network where the SSID is the same for both 2.4 and 5ghz networks. Then you have to jump through hoops to temporarily shut down the 5ghz network until pairing is complete. After that, all is well and I fault Netgear Orbi designers more than Smart device manufacturers for this problem.

    You Might Need Some Things Not Provided
    Positive: Works great, Looks nice.You will need a tester to determine which of your house black wires are hot (coming from the breaker) an which black wires are load (going to the device to be powered, like a light or an outlet). Don’t depend on the switch you are replacing to have been wired correctly – it may have been wired reversed. Labels are provided to wrap on the wires after you have identified them (before you turn off the breaker). A simple screw driver AC voltage detector that lights on contact with a hot lead will do.Negative: for each switch two short pieces of wire are provided to allow connection at the bottom of the switch for the ground wire (bare or green wire in your house) and the common wire (white wire). The wire provided is stranded (not solid) and is too thin to be properly secured by the screw terminals. You will need some short pieces (6 to 12 inches per switch) of 14 gauge wire (green or bare for the ground and white for the common) to be able to pigtail out the connection. Finding this out after you start is very inconvenient. I happened to have the white wire on hand and was able to connect individual ground wires directly. For the common (white wire) all the wires in my for the three switches were connected in a single bundle with one large connector – 6 wires. Adding the three pigtails made a bigger bundle and I replaced the connector with one that was a little larger (something that’s not in the box).Negative: When setting up the switch to be controlled by wi-fi you have to select the device from a menu within the app. It is a bit of a guessing game to select the right item. Also you have to go through the set up menu within a certain time limit of applying the power to the unit (turning the breaker back on). If you are not fast enough you have to start over.

    Once installed they were great
    Installing these ended up being more difficult then I imagined. The pig tail wires were way to short and the gauge wire was to small. It would slip out of the connection on the switch and slip out of the wire nut that attached all the neutral wires. The pig tail wires being so short it made it difficult to work in the light switch box I was attaching to. I went out and got a heavy gauge wire and a larger wire nut and it went way more easy.

    Great switch when they work
    Unfortunately easy to install but they randomly go out, when I say go out, they just randomly stop working. I’ve had no choice but to keep extra so when one goes out I can replace. I have 42 in my house and have had to replace it least 20 of them within a year of install. I think the only good thing I can say is cosmetically they are appealing

    I bought this for a block heater so I don’t have a pigtail hanging from the plug and I wanted to be able to easily adjust the schedule based on what my work schedule was. I set it up in the house and it worked fine. I installed it at the end of our driveway ~300′ and it picked up the WiFi with no issues. I really like that you can control each plug independently, that way I can have on on the timer and one constantly on, or have it set up for two vehicles. Great product! Note that the waterproof cover (not included) sits out a bit because of the plug design. I’ll caulk that to keep things dry.

    The Smart switches do need some effort to install the wiring. Installing on my phone was easy; But I had to switch my Wi-Fi to 4.5 G. And I had to remember my password. But it works great. No more trying to program my outdoor switch timer
