    Updated 11/20/2024 Setup problemsAfter purchasing these smart plugs a year ago and setting them up by plugging them in and saying “Alexa, Discover Devices” when the light blinked on the front, they worked flawlessly and connected. Unfortunately, after a glitch with Alexa this year, some of my lights stopped working—not just these Smart plugs. I looked on the internet, and people said to unplug and plug back in the device, but that did nothing. I spent a few days researching and looking into it, but I still couldn’t get them working. I would plug them in and ask Alexa to discover them, and they would be found, but they kept saying they were unresponsive. This is what finally worked.1) I launched the Smart Life Android app, which updated itself.2) I Unplugged the smart socket for a minute, plugged it back in, and pressed the button on the side for about 16 seconds to ensure the plug was reset and the front light was blinking (AKA Pairing Mode).3) I went back to the Smart Life Android app and selected add a device it detected the plug with no problem. I tested it and it worked in Smart Life.4) After it was working in the Smart Life app. I said “Alexa, Discover Devices”. Alexa found it, and it finally worked fine.The story’s moral is that Alexa seems to interface with the Smart Life app to communicate and control the plugs, so make sure Smart Life stays up to date. I had to open the Smart Life app before it asked for the update. The Smart Life app did not appear to need an update in the Play Store, but that seems to have been the issue. Smart Life was out of date. Alexa and Smart Life control them fine now. I am updating my review, hoping it helps somebody else.Original Review…I am happy with these outlets. They worked well with my Christmas tree and decorations. I also use them with lamps. Easy to set up and works smoothly with my Alexa devices.

    Cheap and work good until they don’t.
    UPDATE: Just another point, don’t buy these! Junk, cheap and absolutely no support at all. They are worthless, I’m constantly resetting and scanning them to add them back on the network. Of the eight I have, only one will stay connected. Nothing like going to bed and having to get up to turn off or on lights manually, and by manually I mean it’s behind the bed or under the sofa etc. They totally have only added stress instead of making life easier. Again the two year warranty is a joke as there is no one to communicate with about the devices. Also on the prior post we had tried to return the second set but wasn’t allowed.Original post: These were very easy to setup and worked well until they don’t. You can usually unplug the plug and wait for a while and it will start working again but three of the four are defective. The box says 2 year warranty but no contact information or what the warranty covers. Had ordered more but returned them while I could.

    Super easy set up- amazing price
    This Alexa smart plug is awesome. Great step to create a voice activated home in an affordable way. It allows me to program all of my smart devices across the house. I have programmed my alarm clock, coffee maker, timer for school pick up for my kids, dinner prep, and bedtime. It’s a great way automatically set your household routine prompts. Most of all the Bluetooth mesh can be managed from my phone app using Alexa. The pairing is seamless and I can now call on Alexa to do many things including launching my favorite shower playlist to candle light evening sounds after dinner to unwind. The plug and play easy setup has me in operation within a few minutes. Great technology gift!

    Have you seen these smart plugs? They’re like regular plugs, but with technology! You can control them with your voice through Alexa. It’s like having a butler, but without the fancy accent, the money to afford a butler, or the ability to fold a fitted sheet.Just say, “Alexa, turn on the lights,” and voila, you’re living like a king! Or queen. Or, I don’t know, some kind of monarch.Setting them up is also pretty easy – just power on the plug and tell Alexa to discover it. It connects in just a few seconds, and before you know it, you’re good to go. And if you’re feeling lazy like me, you can control them from anywhere with the Alexa app on your phone. It’s like having a magic wand, but instead of casting spells, you’re just turning on the lights.One thing I really appreciate is the timer and schedule feature. You can set customized timers to turn your devices on or off, which is pretty great if you’re like me and always forget to turn off the lights when you leave a room. It’s a good way to save energy, money, and possibly your marriage.Now let’s be honest folks, they’re not perfect. Who is? Other than puppies anyway.I mean, you need an Alexa device to use them, so if you’re not already in the Alexa ecosystem, these might not be for you.And while they’re cheap, they do feel a little flimsy and not quite as durable as some other smart plugs out there.I wasn’t totally sold on this whole thing when my wife bought them, but I gotta admit, these are pretty slick.
