The entire reason I bought this was because it was supposed to work with Alexa.I had to download u-tecâs app to set it up, canât even set it up directly from the Alexa app.It turned itself off while I was setting it up, which was not great. But then when it came time to link it with Alexa, it simply doesnât link.The company gives you two methods to link with Alexa. You can go through the u-tec app, or you can download an Alexa skill.Going through the u-tec app returned a ânot foundâ page. Attempting to enable the Alexa skill returned an âunable to linkâ message.On top of everything else, the packaging is designed in a way that you canât open it without ripping the box apart, so I canât even send this piece of junk back.Please donât waste your money on this cheap knockoff. It doesnât do what it says.

Works perfectly with my google home equipment. I have one controlling the bedroom lamp and another one controlling string lights around my desk for studying. They do click quite loud when turning on or off, so wouldn’t recommend using them for any lights you need to adjust while others are sleeping, but otherwise do really enjoy them!

Iâd be nice if they were a bit less bulky, I have outlets with spring loaded covers, had to use a footlong extension cord then plug the smart outlet into that. Had a cheesy 20-year old timer with a rotating time dial, glad to chuck that in the garbage!

Super easy to connect and setup!!
This is my first time buying a Smart Plug and I’m new to this realm of home automation, even though I’ve had a Google Home as my voice assistant for a long time. It was super easy via their phone app to connect to the wifi and I was able to locate it on my Google Home app by searching U-tec and then it was easy peasy! It connected to my Google home just fine then. I’m yet to try out the app functions but besides that, I’m happy with the performance it gives with the Google home app!

They work as far as remote on and off using the bridge only. I assumed they would also have some kind of info about power usage as well but I donât see that. It would be so easy to add the peak or off peak info like Apple does based on zip code. But they donât seem to work with Apple Home hub at all.
