Very impressed with this camera (we also own ring and Arlo cameras) as it immediately starts recording when the door is opened / window opened when the alarm is set to away (does not wait until the alarm sounds, so in case of an actual burglary there is no delay in the recording). It has an auto privacy cover that is activated when the alarm is in the “off” mode and when you arm Simplisafe in the “home” mode. Excellent image quality in day and night. I noticed that there is a one star review regarding night vision but the key is to not place it right next to a light colored wall. The infrared light source can bounce off nearby walls/ceiling. Once I moved it about a foot away at a slight angle the picture quality was excellent when activating the camera in our completely dark kitchen. We set this up for my mom’s Simplisafe system and now, if she hears a noise, she can activate the camera from her Simplisafe app to look in the kitchen/back door entry area.

Connection dropped a lot more then the one with wired one with 720p resolution
Every time you try to view, you have to retry 6, 7 times to get live lunching on the spectrum wifi is 300mbps . The connection isnât even that bad but you have to retry a fews times to view the live streaming. And doesnât work with 5G wifi. Have to be with 2 G. Once itâs connected the image is very clear as it should be 1080p resolution. I still give it 3 stars because the live image is nice once it is connected but very annoying to retry and test connections a lot and trouble shoot a lot while the other wired connecting one with 720p resolution is connecting fine and image is still decent. And the wifi is more than 300 mbps. I wish I got the wired one instead of this one . But overall itâs working but annoying.It was not connecting to wifi anymore( around 12/29/23). I contacted the customer support but they keep telling me the reset step and they blamed the wifi connection, like some other devices are connecting and thatâs why the SimpliSafe camera connection dropped. But I live in 1 bedroom apartment, how far could it be the router to the SimpliSafe camera is ? And also I only trying to live lunch when Iâm not home, which mean no one in the apartment are not using any wifi at the moment, and other SimpliSafe camera the wired connection one is connecting fine and I can see live lunch on the same network. Iâm just very frustrated, not even worth for anything and I give up with this Indoor wireless SimpliSafe camera . It just giving be high blood pressure from frustration and the person who refers to me is just feel bad . I donât feel like giving any stars anymore since it doesnât connect to the wifi itâs worthless. While it was connecting for the first month, you have to retry connecting like 10 time to live lunch anyway. It is a very bad way to waste money.

The camera was an addition to my existing system. For some reason I had to try adding it several times before it completely connected. I think maybe it needed to download software. Anyway, Iâve been using it for 2 months now without any issues. It can be used plugged into a usb outlet or wirelessly with the rechargeable battery. I have been using it wirelessly and still have 50% battery life remaining.
