Many wireless switches are complicated and difficult to install. The RunLessWire 2-controller kit and light switch system are designed to be completely user friendly. Control your LED lights, ceiling- or wall-mounted fixtures, and other electronics as well as your ceiling fans with this kit, which includes a dual switch. There is no need for batteries or complicated wires for our light switches! Simply install using industrial tape or screws. Place it wherever it is convenient, or use it to replace an existing wired switch in your home. Receivers or controllers are wired between the power and the light and then stored adjacent to the junction box behind the fixture.
Our electrical light switches are intended for indoor use. If you choose to install one of these switches for an outdoor light, it will need protection from the elements. You can use our kits to move a switch to a new location, add a wall switch to a pull-chain light, or add a switch anywhere else you’d like. Use this self-powered light switch in conjunction with controllers in a kit for lights, wall-mounted fixtures like sconces, and other electronics. It is important to note that the light switch is designed to control an unlimited number of linked controllers that are in range, and one controller can respond to up to 30 wireless remote light switches.
RunLessWire is a trusted name in the wireless lighting control space, offering a variety of premium wireless lighting products that are incredibly simple to install and don’t require complicated wiring or even batteries. Every RunLessWire product is user friendly, setting us apart as a leading brand for DIYers.

Add, Move or Replace a light switch without having to run wires
This kit is for controlling 1 light source with 2 single rocker switches. The receiver (controller) is pre-connected to the 2 switches and is perfect for a larger room, stairwell, hallway, loft, attic, basement or garage. If adding additional switches, then remove all original wired switches and replace them with wireless switches at each switch location to control the same receiver.
The switches are self-powered by kinetic energy, eliminating the need for batteries, wires, or wifi.
The switch can be mounted on any flat surface, installed as a wall switch, or used as a remote. The receiver is designed for easy installation and requires a neutral wire.
These switches cost more because they are worth more! They are assembled by hand in the USA, and made with premium materials to ensure a high quality product. All products are backed with a 5 year warranty.
Customers say
Customers find the electronic switch easy to install and reliable. They appreciate its no-battery operation and wireless design that allows for one switch for each light without running a separate circuit. Many find it a great idea, saving time, and satisfied with the switch functionality. However, opinions differ on whether it provides good value for money.

Clean Installation, Solid, high quality
I had reversed a door swing into a room and the light switch was now behind the door. Rather than rewire the room, I simply installed the receiver unit into the light switch box, and installed the âswitchâ on the wall in a new location. Easy to install if you can do some simple electrical work (like changing out an outlet or switch). Super high quality, and was available in brown . Made in USA and much better than the cheaper units you see for sale (which also require batteries to change). I couldnât be happier with this product. One thing to check for pre-installation: there needs to be both a neutral and hot wire in the old switch box. Mine had older wiring, where there was only the âhotâ in wire, and Switched output wire (2 conductor Romax, vs 3 conductor in newer homes). I was able to run a second Romax from a nearby outlet, which gave me a neutral. An easier solution which is specified by the manufacturer is to install the receiver into the junction box at the light fixture which has both hot and neutral. In my case this would not work since there were multiple lights on this circuit, not all going through a common light fixture box. I recommend you check this out prior to purchase to make sure one of these two methods will work in your installation. The switch itself is slim and can be surface mounted to the wall . Blends in nicely, but I am a perfectionist. In the near future, I will be cutting a hole in the drywall and dropping in a plastic junction box, and the toggle switch will be installed in a Normal recessed position, with switch plates matching the others in my house ( hammered copper). This is a great feature of this product, where you can mount either way.Highly Recommended!

This is a Very Well-Designed Switch/Controller Combo and Does Work Over Long Distances
First of all, I am a retired radar systems engineer, and I am familiar with the RF frequency being used to switch this controller. I only recently installed the switches and associated controller, so I cannot claim knowledge of their reliability over time, but from what I have seen so far, as well as discussed with the Runlesswire company, I think that this switch/controller combo is great and very well thought out. On the negative side, let me say that attempting to install the switch and controller within the same box is tough. I had to add a small extension to the box. In my case this was an external box by my pool so it was no big deal. This outside box was metal, so the control signal was not about to get into the box from the remote switch without my adding a way for the antenna to be exposed. I added a short (2â) threaded PVC tube with end cap to extend the antenna, so this was another reason that I needed some room in the box to put the antenna in position. This is not required if using a plastic box. I wanted the remote switch up at my house and placed it in an existing box that had been used with the original remote switch, installed over 10 years ago using an older technology. The box was plastic, which was good, but it was next to the leader for the gutters, which deflected the signal away from the direction I wanted it to go. I solved the problem by placing metal foil on the opposite side of the box to redirect the signal. This worked great. Note that in order to get to the antenna on the box by the pool the signal had to go about 123 ft, including a bounce off the metal fence behind the pool back to that antenna on the opposite side of the pool. That all worked great, but I was concerned about having to replace a switch or controller at some later date, and discussed this with the company. While it is clear that the controller can be programmed to match a replacement switch, it is also possible to add multiple switches to the same controller, so it is not necessary to have all switches set to the same signal. They thought of many issues when designing this, so while this switch may appear expensive, you are getting your moneyâs worth!

Easy Installation
I bought the 4-way version (3 wall switches to control 1 light). Works great. Saved a lot of time and money not having to run wire from basement panel to top and bottom of central staircase. All switches fit exactly into existing wall boxes. The controller fit snugly into ceiling fixture. It takes up essentially all of the free space above the hanger bar. But it fit!

Works as deacribed
Worked perfectly and the installation was very simple. Took less than 5 minutes to wire everything up. Very cool technology.

A little pricey but good quality wireless switches
I really like the battery-less operation (self-generating electricity) switches to actuate the load. And I like the fact that like regular wired switches, these rocker switches don’t require you to press in a specific area of the switch to get it to actuate. The system is not cheap, but it works well and certainly easier than running wires to a 4-way switch series. The only minor thing is aesthetic – the rocker switches stay in the middle position vs. being “up” (off) or “down” (on) as do wired rocker switches.

It just works.
For the last 50 years, the highest praise I could give a product or a company is that it just works. I often use the light switch as an analogy. You throw the switch, and the light comes on.I was frustrated with other remote switches that I tried. While much cheaper, they “usually” worked, which drove me nuts. This switch just worksâand it works 100% of the time. You throw the switch, and the lights come on. While more expensive, it is well worth the price if you just want it to work every time you use it.

Easy to install and solved my problem.
I have a wall switch that was behind furniture due to the configuration of my room. In less then 10 minutes I was able to install the transmitter and have a their remote decora style switch moved to a much more convenient spot. A little pricey but seems well made. Works great so far. Just like a normal switch.

The controller takes up a lot of room in the fixture box, especially a renovation box. That limits the type of LED light that can be used as many are designed to project into the fixture box.
