    No more Charging!
The adapter is great and works perfect. The size is small and not too large. I like the fact we don’t have to remove the unit and charge it with the charger; the Ring is always fully charged. There’s no issues with the quality of the camera and we haven’t experienced any lag time issue. My husband said it was easy to install.

    Easy, works pretty well.
I bought 3 of these. Quite frankly, I was tired of taking them off and recharging them about every 3-4 weeks.I use Gen 2 Ring Doorbells. They’re inexpensive, and produce a pretty wide picture. I also got 3 for $10 per month for storage.I would like to purchase an extra battery in case a battery discharges before this charger can recharge one of the batteries.I use my Doorbells “full on.” Meaning I use everything available to me. Video, snapshot capture, etc. As much as I can use. This takes power. So at times my batteries will go down.As of yet, I’ve not had one go below about 55%. But they do discharge during the day as things are moving. No big deal, so far!One thing I am doing is to put the doorbells in sleep mode 2 hours per day while I’m at home to help the charger catch up the charge.I ran the 9’ cord through the wall to a receptacle. Make sure to put some slack where it goes through the wall, and caulk the wire hole. EZ stuff. Also run the cord along the baseboard so you can’t see it. Blends in pretty well.Make sure you’re wireless is getting good signal, or it will pull more power to operate. All said, things are operating well. BTW, the unit produces 24VDC. Test you unit with a multimeter. Use the DC voltage on the multimeter and lug into the wall. It should show 24.0 DC. If you don’t know what you’re doing, bu all means get someone that knows what there doing. Please.Good luck.Peace ✌️

    Works Great
2nd generating ring doobell charger works great, it charges fast. I wish the power cord was alittle longer. The power cord is 10 feet long but It does the job.

Installation should be more specific specially for each type of Doorbell
I rated installation 3 stars not because it is not easy because to install, it is basically super easy (the problem relies on the base mount on the [Doorbell2] that does not have an opening to get the cable out without crushing the cable and ruining it and instructions are too general instead of being specific to each Doorbell that is supposed to work with.So here is what I had to do:1. Dismount camera & connect cable to the camera. (Super easy to do & if working the light wil change to a permanent white color)2. Since I live on a rented apartment, I am not allowed to drill holes, specially in the back porch door [metal one], and had to figure out how to make the cable extend out of the mount without crushing it & ruining the cable.3. Did my due diligence & researched for compatible mounts to see if one had an opening but found none, called Ring Support to see if they could help me with more info or suggestions, but there are not mounts available for my needs, when asked if I could drill a hole on the mount they said it would not invalidate the warranty as long as camera was not affected.4. Decided not to drill because bottom edge of the 45° mount is too thin, so I used my soldering kit [set at 250° F] to begin marking where I needed to create a space to have the cable exit without damage. After a while the plastic melted to where I needed to create the space without ruining the mount and was able to use a round file to clean the edges. [Tha did the job & cable was able to exit out of mount without any damages]5. Double checked on the app & camera was recording and detecting motion [As a matter of fact the video looks better that when you have a battery pack only] double checked the battery still installed on the camera [you can locate info under Device Health tab] and it was chargin it (went from 50% to 63% in less than 30 mins)6. Placee camera back on the mount & was done with installation. If Ring would have provided a different mount for my Doorbell 2, this would have been a less than 5 mins installation, that being said it took me a while to figure out my options, call Ring Support, call Amazon to end up deciding what to do.PROS: Overall the cable does what it is meant to do, will charge your battery pack, and video output looks better than before. The installation process it is super easy [unscrew 4 smaller screws on the mount, attach black & red cables to the back of the camera (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN PLEASE] and PRESTO! camera should work without any issues.CONS: If you have a Doorbell 2 like me, and have very few options of installation like me you’ll need to figure out a way to make the cable exit from the mount without damaging it.Overall: Im happy that the cable works and gives me peace of mind that I won’t be needing to change a battery pack every few days (my back porch is a high traffic area) and it works as describes. Would have rated 5 stars if I didn’t had to go the extra mile to install the cable.NOTE: I know that there is a solar panel exists for my type of camera but it does not help when the camera is inside an enclosed screened porch & it is located where it does not get direct sunglight at any time of the day. My back porch is facing North & does not get direct sunglight at all, plus my HOA will not allow the bigger solar panel placed outside of my porch. Any questions feel free to respond to my review if you are allowed to do so. [Not sure if you can]HAPPY SHOPPING! & do your research before buying.

READ THIS Before you dremel or slot your RING doorbell
The adapter itself is easy to understand, you only have two connection points and it doesn’t matter the polarity. I too had a similar issue with the doorbell reattaching once the cord was partially behind the doorbell. It was far too thick. Before you go and chop a hole into your doorbell, try removing the cord sheathing with wire stripper just what will remain behind the doorbell. Once you’ve done that the RedBlack wires are much smaller and can fit neatly behind the doorbell.NOTE: This adapter acts as a trickle charger to any previous battery operated doorbell. You can call Ring if you like, or take my word for it, but your Ring battery will still drain and MUST be inserted for your doorbell to function. The trickle will eventually charge your battery IF your doorbell doesn’t go off a lot during the day.I think the concept of this is great, but as others have mentioned, you need a longer cable to really be able to run this anywhere beyond your front door. I have an extension cable running underneath a deckporch to plug into an existing circuit. But as this indicates “Indoor” only I run the risk of it failing over time. The price I pay for a builder who didn’t install a doorbell. Thanks!

Ring makes the set up of their products very easy. Installation of the plug in adapter was simple and the doorbell worked right away.

Perfect for my “new” 2nd generation Ring doorbell.
My 1st generation Ring doorbell that I use mostly as a camera finally bit the dust. I attempted to use the same hardwire cord for the replacement 2nd generation Ring doorbell but got flashing lights etc. This cord solved the problem. It’s plugged into a porch outlet so no removing the Ring to charge – ever! Glad I searched for it.

This one works for me. Haven’t had to charge the removable battery in my Ring doorbell since I installed it more than 3 months ago.My house is close by a fairly busy street and the Ring camera is busy.I had a different brand charger before this one that had AC input and output which Ring states mine required. I was always having to remove the battery for charging. This Ring 2nd generation charger is labeled 24v DC.For the price I figured taking a chance buying this is better than searching for that microscopic battery cover screw again in the snow or garden. It works just fine.

I bought this because I wanted to hardwire my Ring Pro Doorbell 3 to my house but my home’s existing doorbell wire is not working anymore. Rather than play around with the electrical wiring, it’s easier for me to just plug this Ring adaptor into an electrical outlet in my enclosed front porch.Overall, installation was super easy and will literally take you only a few minutes. The ends of the wires already have fork connectors installed so all I had to do was attach them to the back of the Ring doorbell and tighten the screws to hold them in place, and then plug the adaptor into an electrical outlet. Yup, it’s that easy. As soon as my doorbell powered on, my Ring app displayed the status as “Hardwire”.Some things to note: the two wires on this adaptor are red and black but Ring’s support videos says it doesn’t matter which wire goes where when connecting them to the back of the Ring doorbell; as long as they don’t touch each other. Also, for me, I actually had to drill a hole through my door frame so I could thread the wire through for a cleaner look but this will vary for everyone and you may not necessarily need to do this. The power cord is about 10 feet long which is a good length. It should also be pointed out that although it came packaged in a Ring-branded bag, this adaptor isn’t manufactured by Ring. As the product photo shows, the underside of the adaptor reads, “Dee Van Enterprises”.It’s also important to know that this adaptor is TRICKLE CHARGE meaning it will very slowly recharge the battery until it’s full so if you notice your Ring battery percentage has dropped throughout the day from regular daily use, don’t panic. This adaptor will slowly and continuously recharge the battery back to full. Trickle charging can be a pain but it’s still better than removing the doorbell battery every few weeks to USB charge for several hours.Overall, I’m pleased with this product. Installation was super simple and it makes life so much easier for me and my Ring doorbell. I just installed it today so I’ll update this review if it doesn’t work.EDIT: (April 7, 2021) I can confirm that this adaptor 100% works with Ring Doorbell 3 Plus. After connecting this adaptor to my doorbell, I noticed that the battery % slowly dropped everyday. I was tempted to unplug the adaptor but after searching Ring’s website for help, I found a support article from Ring that mentions that the Ring Doorbell 3’s battery will drop to 90% before the adaptor recharges the battery and this is done to prolong the battery life. Last night my Ring doorbell was at 90% and when I woke up this morning and checked the battery level, it was back to 100%. I’m 100% pleased with this product!!

I ordered this for my original Ring Doorbell, which seemed to be on its last legs because a full charge wouldn’t last for more than a few days. I relented and ordered a Ring Plus and attracted this adapter to it. Even though I have a spare battery, the battery in the Ring Doorbell Plus, with the adapter attached, is constantly in the 92% Charged Range. I live in Canada, so we’ll see how it hold up on the winter.
