Customers say
Customers are pleased with the security camera’s functionality, setup, and integration with Home Assistant. They find it easy to set up, with no app required to know when the doorbell rings. The PoE connection is a nice touch, avoiding WiFi issues. The AI package/person detection works well to eliminate false notifications. However, some customers feel the app could use improvement and require some homework to use with 3rd-party NVRs.

Works great even through a mesh satellite
So I donât have normal doorbell wiring at my house. It was built in the 70âs. The idea of moving a CAT 6 wire across my attic was not a very appealing idea, but I wanted a doorbell. It was then I realized I had a mesh satellite for my router nearby – and that with some luck, Iâd be able to wire something together.I moved my mesh satellite to an outlet by the front door. The satellite does not provide POE, so I took the ethernet cable and connected it to a POE injector & plugged the injector into the wall as well. I then ran another CAT 6 cable from the injector to the doorbell, and the doorbell thinks it is directly hooked into the router across the house. The signal quality is perfect, no lag whatsoever. If you are looking for a DIY doorbell but have no hookups, the method I used may work for you. You will just need 2 open wall outlets, a mesh router satellite with 1 POE output, an injector, 2 CAT cables, and obviously the doorbell.Camera quality is great and the AI package/person detection works nice to eliminate false notifications from swaying trees in the front yard. Night vision is okay but our porch light keeps it from turning on. Itâs easy enough for anyone with a smart phone to set up.

Works well – Nice to have included chime.
Finally, after moving into a house with an unmapped PoE network, we have a doorbell that works! Really like having the separate chime, so no app required to know when your doorbell rings (new house didn’t have a standard powered doorbell and chime combo, just a PoE line to a dead Axis doorbell). I bought the Reolink NVR, and am still figuring out the app interface of the combined NVR doorbell. The app is not as intuitive as I had hoped. Also, I would like a little more variety for doorbell chime tones, so I could, for example, have a distinct tone for certain circumstances (person detection, package detection, doorbell push). The app allows different tones between doorbell push, person motion and motion detection, but most of the standard chimes are pretty bad, and not very distinguishable.

Canned the Cloud, this works great
I’ve had Ring and it was fine, but i gave it to my parents when I got a Google Doorbell. All Google hardware is now crap with the updates they’re doing, I threw it all away. Now I’m pulling everything out of the cloud, so i got this. You can play with the tons of features on this, I’m just using it as a doorbell for now. App could use a little work, but it’s fine. Integrated with Home Assistant easily, going to set up some off-device recording next. The wired PoE is great too, avoids the WiFi shenanigans with a doorbell that’s outside a brick wall/metal door.

Exceeds expectations
Ring doorbells are garbage. This doorbell is great. Audio quality is top notch, plenty of tuning options for detection in the app, and app is very easy to use and configure. Picture quality is excellent day and night. POE is always better to use versus WiFi. Canât say enough good things about this camera.

A couple of tweeks and it could be a 5
First off, this is an ethernet wired device.A few years ago, during remodeling I had the forethought to install a cable in the wall for a future video doorbell. If you don’t have an Ethernet cable at your doorbell location, it’s unlikely you’ll want this camera unless you can manage to get a cable to your doorbell location. This is a Poe camera, meaning it gets its power through the Ethernet cable along with the data signals. You’ll need some Poe equipment to attach this camera to. It is not Wi-Fi.The physical installation is straightforward. I made use of the wedge to angle my camera towards the walkway.Configuring the camera was also pretty straightforward using the ReoLink phone app. There is a remote chime device that you can setup also. What I didn’t like was finding out how to enable ONVIF.This setting is not available on the phone app. You need to download the ReoLink application onto your computer and access advanced settings that way. You can find it or page 8 or by searching for “reolink Client app download”.Once you’re in the real link program, you can go to the settings gear, network, advanced, server settings, and there you’ll want to likely enable RTSP and ONVIF. While you’re there you’ll likely want to enable HTTP as the web interface is not active by default! With ONVIF enabled I was able to use the camera with iSpy Agent.I also noted that I could not use a local IP address for NTP.I thought the image has a little bit more fisheye character than I prefer but I guess to get the wide angle view you’re going to have some of that.

Features don’t work
Camera picture quality was decent but none of the alert or two way talk features worked. I upgraded my NVR software as well as the app with no luck. Would not send alerts and gave no buttons for two way communications. I still like their NVR camera systems but can’t recommend their doorbell camera.

Works fantastic with home assistant, the reolink app itself is kinda barebones and lacking though. So if you want picture or video notifications, you have to go with home assistant.
