    Just say no…
    I’ve had other Mercury products with zero issues. However, these are missing the mark by far. All plugs constantly loose connectivity even though there are no changes in network and no power loss. Yes resync isn’t complicated, but it becomes a hassle. The new app (old plugs aren’t compatible) simple doesn’t work. I can get the plugs to respond with Google Home even when the plugs don’t respond with the manufacture app. Disappointed that I never have issues with old plugs through the gennie app, but the “upgrade” is absolutely garbage. Spend more elsewhere and avoid the headache.

    Works well, when you finally get it connected.
    The plug is well made and relatively small, enough not to stand out when plugged into an outlet. It stays snug when plugged in, and the design is clean. The instructions are reasonably well-written and easy to follow.There are a couple of detractors:- I could not connect to this plug with my pre-existing apps, so I had to download another smart home app with yet another account and password to remember.- Connecting it to their app and putting the plug into pairing mode is straightforward. You will need to create an account, and you might be tempted to use the integration with Gmail. But when you try to install the Alexa integration, the Gmail integration will not work (security violation), forcing you to create another account with a different email than the initial email account. This will force you to pair the device again with the new account.- Gmail integration is broken for the Alexa app. See above note if you plan to use it with Alexa.If you have made it this far, congratulations! you now can control your plug with Alexa! At this point, if works well and as expected.

    Good smart plug
    I wanted a smart plug to be able to control a light in my farmhouse remotely, so I thought I would give this one a try. Excellent choice. This plug is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are excellent. Simple configuration using the downloadable app. Works well with Alexa. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

    These linked to alexa easily and so far are working well. My apartment is like where smart plugs go to die, for some reason they all die in a few months so hopefully these buck the trend but they’re working great so far!

    Does not work like the older versions with Google home.
    I have used and still use many of the older merkury/ geeni devices without any problems setting up or controlling via Google home. The older devices use a different app called “Geeni”. These plugs require a newer app called “Merkury smart”. The app setup was easy. But it will not allow integration with Google Home ! Google Assistant linking did not work.As aanother review stated : I tried many times, triple-checking my password. It just doesn’t work. It makes these plugs almost useless as I’m not going to find my phone, open their proprietary app, and navigate through the screens to set a plug on a timer. Even days later it still doesn’t work. I tried logging into their website, support site, Google Home connection. Tried resetting password. App login works but none of the integration. AVOID THESE for some that actually work.Waist of money, I’m not gonna use phone app to turn on and off devices. I wanted to use voice commands as advertised !

    Basic control. Rather long and complicated setup experience for pairing with Alexa
    Merkury smart app, while intuitive, tends to be a bit pushy for registration information immediately. While I understand this might help later on with recovering some settings, the device requires an account seemingly in order to use all but ON/OFF basic function with the power switch. My first attempt at setting up the basic function was successful through the app, however I ran into an issue with not being able to set up the Alexa app. Using my google account to sign in resulted in an error message from the skill app in Alexa. Opening in a private browser was not successful and generated an error. The only working solution i found was to delete my account and re-create an account on a different email with a password (because it said my gmail was pending deletion). This was successful when I got to the skill paring, but only after I selected “open in local internet browser”. Not doing so would generate an error again. Once in, I was able to command the outlet based on the name I had given it. The outlet also does make an audible clunk when it turns on and off so it’s not as quiet as others I have in my household.
