Installation is pretty easy however the instructions are kind of vague and somewhat confusing. It took about 45 minutes to install. The app is clunky and confusing. Translation from Chinese is poor. It does work fine with the Alexa Echo Dot.

PROs:- This ‘MOES Smart Toggle Light Switch’ is the ONLY smart switch that mimics the familiar stay-in-place up/down of a traditional toggle switch! Finally!- At ~$20, it’s a great price for a smart switch!;- Operates alone or in a 3-way switch setup;- Switch body is shallow–plenty of space behind the device to accommodate wires, wire connectors, and ventilation.CONs:- This ‘MOES Smart Toggle Light Switch’ is intended as a stand-alone device ONLY! It is NOT intended to be used in multi-gang boxes.- ONLY compatible with the supplied cover plateâit does NOT fit a standard wall switch cover plate, nor does it have threaded holes for plate screws;- ONLY available in white.- Integration with the home automation apps is AWFUL! 1) Device can NOT be programmatically activatedâonly manual; 2) app does NOT show device status; and, 3) device will NOT join Group(s) or Scene(s).Bottom Line: Don’t buy. Here’s why…1) Purports to be compatible with three leading home automation apps. Finally! A “real” up/down smart toggle switch!
Unlike other smart toggle switches, this one flips up and down like a dumb switch. It does not return to the middle like other smart toggles. It’s got an LED indicator to provide a switch state (useful for 3-way setups). You can use your own switch plate if you are not keen to the plastic one it comes with. It does require a neutral wire.A couple things I’d suggest to the manufacturer. 1- Make a black option. 2- Make a z-wave option.A superb choice if you are looking for that tactile feel while still being able to automate your home.

The unit is fine, the plastic does seem cheap. The app leaves a lot to be desired as far as ease of use and how easy it is to use for certain functions for my family. Not a bad unit, I just think there are better out there with better apps for integration.

Failed within 3 weeks
The installation went ok, but after about 2 weeks it just stopped working and said something to the effect that the network was unavailable. The WiFi signal at the switch location was strong (about 12 feet from the router), so that was not a problem. I deleted the switch from the Moes app and re-added it. That didn’t help. I uninstalled the Moes app and reinstalled it, then re-added the switch. So far so good; the light switch started working again from the Moes app. The Alexa app still failed to recognize it, so I disabled the switch in the Alexa app, then re-enabled it. It still didn’t work. I removed Moes from Alexa skills, then re-added it. It just wouldn’t connect again, and I could not make it work. I tried building a schedule within the Moes app for the switch and I noticed there was no option for scheduling on/off for sunrise/sunset. That is what I needed for this switch to control the porch light. Alexa does have this feature. The Moes app schedule also failed to control the light switch with a simple on and off time. I returned the switch.

Fits in normal 3 gang box beside older switches
Simple to install and configure once I found the neutral wire in the box. The switch it replaced did not use that neutral wire so I was confused. Added it to my old 2.4g Wi-Fi and then Alexa.

Won’t discover
Basically these just don’t work. First, they will not fit a multi gang box. The cover has to be removed, then there is no provision for the multi gang cover plate screws. I installed two of these. One would not go into discover (sync) mode at all, after numerous tries. The other did finally go into mode, ( flashing light) but could not find my phone two feet away.They are going back.
