I needed to add a light to a stairwell but with plaster walls and 2 stories, it would have been very difficult to run wiring for the switches. I also did not want something that used batteries which down the road would be more difficult as this will be a rental property. no batteries are needed ever! So awesome!

This is a wonderful product. If you can change an switch/outlet, you can install this. A little tricky figuring out the correct wiring, but after two tries I got it. Switch mounts easily and works well. I wish the switch did not have such an audible “click” every time, but that is what keeps it charged.

Good quality, fused, self-powered switches
Pros: this was easy to install. I like that the receiver has a fuse (a plus when you’re installing an electric circuit in a tight space). The switches don’t need a battery, and look decent. Be aware, these are not toggle switches (there’s no on/off position), they are push-button types.Cons: although the box is small, it is tough the fit inside a ceiling light box. It would help if the cable terminal were facing up, instead of on the side, maybe? I had access to the ceiling space so I relocated it above the box, but YMMV.The switches cannot fit inside a regular 2-gang box: the cover is not standard size. It’s also unclear if you can screw them in a 1-gang box?
