Works but set up is a nightmare.
Works great.. once you get it set up.. I absolutely hate, hate , hate it have to download thier app, then connect to internet, then amazon alexa then connecting from there to the other app is a nightmare to install and connect to EVERYTHING by ghe time you get done probably don’t even need it anymore. To many steps and connecting, others are simpler just connect thru alexa and internet. 3 stars because set up is a nightmare.

It connects quickly and easily with the Meross app, and Alexa recognized it. The description states it is compatible with SmartThings, which I already had, but I was unable to connect it to SmartThings either before or after using the Meross app.

Meross Outlets work better than any other Amazon outlet I have!
Don’t try and use a VPN on your phone and use the Meross application. It doesn’t like that. HOWEVER. If you aren’t using a vpn on your phone this outlet will do some amazing things.Do you know how you fight with things to connect to the app? This has no problem. Then on top of that when the process of pairing the outlet in the app is done. It AUTOMATICALLY adds it to Alexa. I have 5 of these now and have had about 50 of these smart plugs and lights. BY FAR. Meross has worked the best. I don’t know how but they also don’t have that 1-2 second delay you will see with other smart plugs. These work fast. (I thought that was because of SmartPlugs being 2.4ghz wireless but these are that too and there are no lag problems.Give these a try. Sure, you have to use YET ANOTHER app to get this started but when you do I think you will be surprised with the results. Very nice. I have used a lot of these smart devices. I did NOT expect the quality of these to get better. However I now have 6 Meross devices and they all work great. (and fast)

This smart plug matches full amperage capacity of home receptacles (15 Amps). I downloaded Meross app on my phone and went through wifi provisioning wizard. It connected from the first try and it took under a minute to provision it with WiFi connection. Meross app has built-in smart scenes to interact with other Meross devices, you can also setup schedules using either time or events such as sunrise or sunset. Integration with Google Home provides ability to interact with other non-Meross smart devices. I got it to run insect trap in my garage. I set schedule from sunset to sunrise daily. Google Home is also going to shut it off every time when garage door opens or garage light is turned on and power it back up when garage door closes or garage light is turned off.

Wifi Smart Plug – Must install Meross App
This plug only works with Alexa devices and apps once it has been set up via the Meross app. I have no desire to download yet another one purposed use app to my phone, particularly because of the permissions that must be granted each time you do so. I was still able to use this plug for my purpose, which was to plug in a Christmas tree. Instead of asking Alexa to turn the tree on, I just push the button on the side of the plug, which is still easier than plugging and unplugging the tree each time.

Great option for my HomeKit house
The headline may be a bit confusing but I will explain later…This is a nice smart switch. It is simple to setup and get running. It does require setting up a Meross account and giving them an email address. But once done, this connects to your WiFi and can be controlled through the app.Now for the explanation, I have a HomeBridge server and have used it for connecting things to HomeKit that are not usually capable of working with HomeKit. All I had to do was download the Meross plugin and enter my Meross account credentials.
