Soooooo pleased!!!
I just replaced another brand doorbell camera with this Lorex. The lorex was easy to install. Be sure you checkout the three back plates for positioning the unit. Install was a snap. Hooking up to WiFi was easy. Video quality is very good. Field of view is very good. The Lorex can handle the back lighting of people out and coming onto my porch. There is a ring option but I chose to have the ring come to my indoor chime and the ring go to my phone as well. You can see the caller and talk to them as well with no lag time. Looks nice and smaller than battery operated units. Cheaper than many and no subscription required.. The camera that I replaced, even thru I had it set to only capture humanoids was constantly snapping videos of nothing. This camera doesnât do that! Just humans. Love it!

DOA
Followed the instructions, verified the correct voltage, turned it on and NOTHING! Attempted installation on the weekend. Had to wait until 10AM on Monday to contact customer service.

Worked as expected
I didn’t have any issues installing or getting this camera to work. It was extremely easy to configure. I would just recommend that you have the correct power for this camera (16vac-24vac). You can buy the power supplies on Amazon for this camera.

Great video but with other issues
My first lorex video doorbell shipment was defective. The mounting tab that locks the camera in place would not operate correctly to lock the camera in place. The camera was easily removed from the mounting bracket without much effort. After a long delay I received my second video doorbell from lorex. Installation was easy and straight forward. But a few issues have become apparent:1. The wall mount is not very secure. It feels extremely flimsy compared to the RCA video doorbell that it replaced. It does not take much effort to rip the video doorbell off the wall and walk off with the video evidence.2. The mounting angle with the included bracket is useless for monitoring packages on the ground. I can see straight ahead and the porch ceiling but not the ground 4 feet in front of the doorbell. This is pretty useless for keeping an eye of the packages. With the RCA video doorbell I could see packages within a foot or two in front of the video doorbell. With the lorex video doorbell I will have to fabricate a custom metal housing to protect the camera and make adjustments for the viewing angle.

Never worked with WiFi or cellular
I bought a new transformer. This did not help. The help line gave me their list of fix it. Nothing worked to connect to app or phone. Worthless.

Misinformation
On the website the voltage requirements said it can accept 16-24 vac or 12-24vdc. However the requirements on the actual device are vac only.

Would be good with some improvements
This replaced a Ring camera because I got tired of increased costs to store video. We already had a Lorex camera, which I found to be kind of disappointing. Too many notifications even with adjustments to sensitivity and the area that it monitors. I find the doorbell to have similar issues. The first night there was a rainstorm with lightening. I had 30 notifications, one for every lightening flash and one for the floodlight coming on. I have adjusted the settings and during the day it works ok. I got it to stop picking up every car that drove by. The quality of the vide is good, but the app is disappointing for various reasons. I canât be logged in on more than one device so I had to creat accounts with 2 different emails for my iPhone and iPad. You canât seem to delete the videos you donât want easily either. This could be a good device with some tweaks.
