Data Security and Best Lighting
I bought the night-vision because they had a very good sale. I don’t actually use the night-vision function.I was extremely disappointed when I bought a competitor product and discovered that the lights would only work when connected to the internet and the product was sending data to China. Also sad because I thought the lights were great. Clean white and brilliant colors.Mycroft recommended LIFX, so I took a gamble and bought a couple to try out. LIFX white makes the competitor’s white look dirty… Brightness range exceeds anything else I have seen and the colors are stunning. While I had various issues with connectivity and the like, the new owner (FEIT) has essentially fixed every issue I have been having. My only concern is with folks reporting that a percentage of the bulbs die prematurely, especially given the cost, but so far no issues. However, all of LIFX lighting is so far above anything else I have seen that I’m ok with some failures if they come along.

Good addition to my Lifx stable
This is a perfect way to boost security cameras’ night vision, but the prices could stand to be lower.

Great lights, little slow sometimes
LIFX have outstanding performance and color. The night vision feature is cool and preforms well. It can be turned off if you don’t want them drawing energy while off. Altho the energy draw is very low.The biggest drawbacks is occasional connection issues and slow response time

HomeKit Difficulty
I have a separate HomeKit/device/IoT network setup with 2.4GHz WiFi only (it seems HomeKit devices donât like 5GHz).I started the initial pairing of my two bulbs⦠3-4 hour later I found a bugâ¦I added the lights to my normal network, which has 5GHz, without any issue. So, as a test, I re-attempted my HomeKit network – no luck. I enabled 5GHz on the HomeKit network: WIN! I disabled 5GHz and they continue to connect flawlessly. These need to have 5GHz available for pairing – and only pairing. The color changing app features require the app to perpetually being running, up-front. Meaning the lights donât know the program, it must be controlled through the app. Thatâs a letdown but not a showstopper since that wasnât an intended feature (given it requires the App it probably should have something that says such). The Infrared function requires the light to be illuminated (just under 5%). This is a bit misleading. I was hoping IR could act independently – meaning be on without visible light (i.e. cameras see, people donât). No dice; requires at least some visible light.Lifx documentation is lackluster. Support is a joke. Product is fine.

Unable to install with app
I had high hopes for this night vision bulb but I’ve spent a few hours trying over and over again to get it to install but the LIFX app never syncs up with it. I tried Alexa but it tells me to install it first with the LIFX app. Same cycle over and over. Since there is no manual way to control this bulb I have to return and find another brand to use instead.

As advertised when it works but…
The bulb is very versatile when it works but that’s the problem it’s not consistent and I constantly had to make adjustments. Finally the bulb has died and does not work at all. This is the important part, I reached out to LIFX support as the bulb is still under the two year warranty and the company has failed miserably at supporting their product. Everything is done via email and they are not committed to doing anything. They slightly hint at at doing something and then disappear for days without any communication at all. As I stated when the bulb works it works fine but it’s the times that it don’t work that will cause you headaches. Buy this device at your own risk just remember THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCT.

Decent HomeKit Bulbs with some minor issues.
When the bulbs arrived, they had some cosmetic damage. It looks like I was delivered refurbished instead of new bulbs, as they had scuff marks and slight scratches. The HomeKit aspect works for the most part. Every once in a while, Iâll get the error that one of the bulbs is unreachable. This could be the bulb itself or an issue on the HomeKit side. I end up having to manually turn off the light and back on before itâs fixed.
