    It replaced a worn out outlet.
    I installed this in about an hour after finding the breaker to cut the current. I installed it in a weatherproof housing on the back wall. It was an easy job and the supplied instructions show how to wire it. It works flawlessly and should last for several years. It has an LED status light which allows for a quick check as to whether its tripped or not. The reset buttons are easily accessed for a reset if needed. I would recommend it for use in a circuit that requires a GFCI outlet.

    Seems Well Made
    The outlet worked as intended and appears to be well built and of good quality. For those who are new to installing AC receptacles, make sure you turn off the GFI breaker at the breaker panel that feeds the receptacle you are working on so there is no chance of you lighting up like a Christmas tree. Also Important:If the receptacle you are replacing feeds multiple outlets fed from the same breaker switch in the panel, make sure you connect your white (neutral) & black (hot) leads from the breaker box to the “line in” outlet side of this receptacle (marked on the back of this receptacle)….or this replacement won’t work at all. Some receptacles don’t have a “line in” designation marking, but this one does. There is a proper in from the breaker box and out to another receptacle order to be followed if you have two white wires and two black wires feeding the receptacle you are replacing. Lastly, make sure you attach the green (earth ground) lead to the screw located on this GFI receptacle to properly ground it.

    I liked how this item cost about half of what it is at the hardware store. It wasn’t too difficult to install. I had to try a couple times to get the wires correct but all in all not bad.

    Great piece of mind for important sump pump
    This GFCI helps add piece of mind to a sump pump that needs to transfer waste water from the kitchen and wash room to the septic tank. I once happened to notice the light was out on our previous GFCI and when I reset it, the pump ran longer than normal. I got lucky. This will add piece of mind with an audible warning to reset it.But the item came obviously previously opened. Did not appear to be used and works fine, but still…

    Our GFI blew
    The only reason I noticed that our GFI had tripped was because my husband had gone to our icemaker to make me a drink to get through the news. There was no ice. And there was no light on in the freezer. And the TV did not work. I am about 25 miles away from the nearest hardware store. AMAZON!!!! And even without the military discount, prices were comparable. I decided on this brand because I do not want to take the chance on a cheap brand when it is on the outlet where my freezer is. And better yet, for just a little more, THIS ONE HAS AN ALARM. Installing it, you will be able to hear the alarm before the final setting. It sounds just like you have left the refrigerator open. Not too loud but certainly audible. I told my friends about this. Usually I don’t care about a GFI with an alarm, but I do when it is with my freezer.

    Added 2 of 8 gang boxes and one 2 gang metal enclosure near the panel, and it passed the local inspection.I use Homeline Square D panels, and if I used circuit breaker integrated AFCIs, then I would have ended up with $650 CAD since CHOM AFCI costs about 65$ per each. Also nice how it covers the 12 AWG wiring as well. Saved about 400$ thanks to these costing 22$ per each!
