Love it! Installed in my home and my parents
This motion sensor light was a game changer at my parent’s house. At the top of the stairs, they previously struggled to keep their balance and find the light switch. No they just walk up and the lights turn on as soon has their hand makes an appearance. I installed it over a year ago and they still thank me for it often.I also installed one in my home at the top of the stairs. I love that when I am carrying the laundry or anything else that the lights come on automatically and then turn off after a couple of minutes of inactivity. The settings are great to enable you to use it how you want.At my parent’s it is in a 3-way setup. At my house it is a 4-way setup.

Dimming, occupancy, and vacancy modes work great with Alexa
The dimmer switch feels solid and not cheap. The dimming controls are smooth as light levels ramp up and down. Dimming is much better than the cheaper no name brands I tried. Both occupancy and vacancy modes work. Alexa controls work very well so no issues there. Also, when the switch turns off an on it is quiet and I dont hear anything. The switch allows the indicator LED to remain on when the switch is off so you can find the switch or you can turn if off all the time. I keep my indicator light off so it does not bother anyone sleeping. Overall it has been a great switch. It costs more than many of the other brands I’ve tried but its clear you get what you pay for with the extra cost for this. When I get another dimmer switch with or without an occupancy sensor I plan to get this brand to maintain the quality feel and to keep the feel of the switch operating up or down when you press the switch paddle. The cheaper brands I have only let the switch paddle depress on one end and that seems a bit awkward to use.

Motion sensors are useless with HomeKit
TL:DR If you’re looking to use the occupancy sensor switch with HomeKit, it doesn’t work. It feels like the HomeKit functionality is just a gimmick.I have been wanting to swap all my lighting from SmartThings control over to HomeKit and when I saw these I was very excited because of the built in occupancy sensor. I believed that I could eliminate all of my battery powered sensors and use the ones built into the switches. This lead me to replace 18 dimmers with occupancy sensor dimmers and update another 9 dimmers to the gen 2 version with HomeKit.The problem is that Leviton for some reason believes that anyone would want to use their own app to control smart lighting despite it having very limited functionality. The switch has built in functionality that makes it work like a normal dumb occupancy sensor light. You can change things in the app like adjusting the sensitivity to one of three levels or how long it takes to turn on and off but there’s no way to override the switch’s built in motion sensor function without turning off the motion sensor. When you do this however, the switch no longer sends the occupancy signals to HomeKit. This makes the built in occupancy sensor completely useless. Also, HomeKit somehow knew that I needed firmware updates on my switches after I installed them but I was unable to use HomeKit to update them. I had to add them to the Leviton app. None of the settings you can adjust in the Leviton App are available in HomeKit either. It makes the HomeKit integration feel very unfinished and gimmicky.Overall I feel very let down by the switch.

    Pretty Good As Is
This dimmer is pretty good as it currently ships. It’s perfect for a bathroom, laundry room, hallway, etc. With tweaks (some could be implemented with software fixes) it could be perfect for use everywhere in the house.Wish list (Gen 3?):1. Matter2. Thread3. Improved main button feel4. When Motion Detection is set to Disabled still send Occupancy states to HomeKit so advanced users can configure in HomeKit as desired.5. Expose the Guidelight as a device in HomeKit6. Expose Motion in addition to Occupancy in HomeKit (ideally both with custom intervals).7. Expose the ambient light sensor as a device in HomeKit8. Color change kits9. Dual technology motion sensing (PIR / ultrasonic) for better occupancy detection.10. Reverse phase dimming for better bulb compatibility.

    Saves money!
Pros:Easy installationNo rewiring or electricity necessary.Cons:None so far**Note** You have to purchase one of Leviton’s compatible smart switches with this!I needed a 3-way switch in my kitchen. Because the ceiling is vaulted rewiring was out of the question and hiring an electrician would have been expensive. So I purchased this and Leviton’s smart dimmer. The two devices paired up easily and have stayed paired for the 7 weeks I have had it installed.

    No Electrical, No Problem
There was an area where I wanted to install a switch but I didn’t have any wiring to that location. I then used a Leviton D215S-2RW Decora Smart Wi-Fi Switch and synced this Leviton DAWDC-2RW Decora Smart Anywhere Dimmer Companion and voilà, new switch to control a light where there’s no electrical. I was able to place the Dimmer Companion next to three other switches and use a Leviton 80312-SW 4-Gang Decora Plus Wallplate to make it look like it was meant to be.Pros:- Easley add a switch to a location with no electrical.- Seamlessly works with the Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Switch and app- Works with Alexa and other smart home automation.Cons:- It’s a bit thicker than an outlet in an electrical box.- There’s a battery that will someday need to be replaced.Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes, and I have.

Switch works well. Does integrate into HomeKit,However the motion sensor doesn’t really. So, to have time based automations (I.e after 9pm only raise the lights to 10% brightness) you’ll have to use the Leviton app which is hot juicy garbage. This is also the first Leviton switch I’ve used that requires the internet for automations to work. Boo.So, sure. Cheaper than a HomeKit motion sensor and switch. But far less customizable.

Installed the Leviton DAWDC-2RW Decora Smart Anywhere Dimmer Companion and works as described. Please note, this has been installed with the Leviton Dimmer and Wifi Bridge Kit. It may be a ‘bit’ tricky to install, but close attention needs to be given to the instructions. The best way to configure the companion switch is to do the following:1) Follow the brief instructions on the Anywhere Dimmer Companion.2) Be as close to the Decora electrically installed switch and the Wifi Companion (this absolutely helped me.) Once you have configured/paired your devices, you may place the companion switch up to 50 feet (give or take on your surroundings,) due to its RF infrastructure.Batteries are said to last up to 5 years.

I have recently paired a couple of these with two separate plug-in dimmers and they work reliably. On initial pairing, I did have an issue where I had to push the button multiple times to get it to respond. I don’t know what happened there, but re-pairing fixed it.I was also able to combine these with a wired-in switch using a 3-gang Leviton screwless faceplate. The end result was very clean – you can’t tell that there is a combination of wired and wireless switches, they are all flush with each other, and nothing other than the adhesive strips that come with these switches were required to set that up.One thing to be aware of is that, while you can pair multiple of these “anywhere” switches to one smart switch/plug, you can’t do the reverse and pair one “anywhere” switch to multiple smart switches/plugs. So if you wanted to, for example, have one switch control two plug-in dimmers, then you can’t do that and you would need one “anywhere” switch for each plug-in dimmer.

I was able to use this with Leviton’s D23LP to add smart lighting to my room where the wall switch didn’t have a neutral wire. Perfect solution to my problem. I just wish the face plate was interchangeable like their other products.

You’d never know it wasn’t a “normal” dimmer switch. But it is, and works fantastic. Super simple to connect, and doesn’t require and wifi stuff
