    Awesome light!!
Do to it taking me just a bit to get in and out of a chair I thought I would give this smart bulb a try, and I’m sure glad I did..It was very easy to set up after downloading their kasa app. I have it linked to my Alexa and it is awesome to tell Alexa when to turn the light off and on.. I can also tell Alexa to dim the light or brighten the light if I wish to do so and it works perfectly!!

    WAYYY BETTER THAN PHILLIPS HUE
Bought these to FINALLY replace my GARBAGE Phillips hue bulbs. Those have been nothing but trouble always randomly disconnecting from google app and not being able to fix them. Factory reset everything still not working. Randomly will start working again.I had enough. Ordered these to replace that junk. SUPER simple setup, less than 5 minutes. Work perfect with google and have been flawless since setup. Brightness and color is also similar. Thinking about buying many more for the amazing price.

    Only one issue
I purchased a couple of handfuls of these to replace plugs used in lamps. They work well with Alexa and were easily put into routines. My only complaint is that after a power failure they turn on. Is there a way to stop this? I submitted an online request for help and was told that the volume of help requests was unusually high and was told to go to a chat session. I haven’t had time to do this. The color options are nice but I rarely use them. They also don’t seem as bright as other bulbs I’ve used.

    Perfect!
I have other Kasa products, including indoor cameras and plugs. All are easy to install and use. They seamlessly integrate with my Alexa, which I love. However, for my end table lamps I was unable to use a plug due to needing an extension cord. Enter Kasa lightbulbs… What a game changer! They’re the exact wattage and color as the ones I had previously in. These were just as easy to install. I especially love the dimming feature. Great product!

Kasa Smart TP Link beat out Amazon Basics
I tried to save a couple of dollars by going with Amazon Basics brand. However, it fell short in that it didn’t work well as a grouped light bulb. The Kasa Smart TP Link bulb that I’m replacing didn’t last the amount of time represented in the specifications. However, it lasted a few years. And it works in unison with the group setup that I enjoy. The 2700k temperature seems more like 3000k but I can deal with that.

    Bright and easy to pair
As has been my experience with previous Kasa smart products, this was very easy to pair using the Kasa app. Once added to your Kasa account you can quickly add it to your Alexa or Google Home account. The light is fairly bright and the warm white color pleasing on the eye. It is dimmable using the app or from Google Home or Alexa or any other home automation. I use it for my porch light and have programmed Google to switch it on after sunset and off again at sunrise. It serves well in this role. The issue with these bulbs is always longevity. I will update this review if the bulb stops working in a less than reasonable time frame. Till then I am very satisfied.

Need new firmware to work on larger networks as of 2021-09
Update 2: After almost a month of back and forth with support I finally got ahold of an engineer. The Engineer was very skilled and systematically helped look and check a number of settings and ended up with the resolution of downloading a Beta firmware and loading it onto the first bulb. I completed the remaining updates and so far has been stable for a day. Lots of work to get to this point, I hope they roll out a general update soon. Update 1: Previously I had tried after reading a few reviews, I can confirm what others have found out that if you have a larger home with many Access points, or mine that is old and has heavy plaster walls so I have multiple AP’s These WILL NOT work. There is a bug in the bulbs that will not allow them to connect if you have the same SSID broadcasting on multiple AP’s. As a test I setup a single AP, with a new SSID and connected my phone and the bulb to that and it worked just fine, however that solution is not a great one. I don’t want to setup a separate SSID just for these bulbs on every AP as well as my main SSID. Original review: So I’m 0 for 8 on these lights now unless I use the work around. 2 got so far to upgrading the firmware when they would start, then drop off the network and change their name to the default TP-LINK_Smart Bulb_XXXX then become greyed out and unable to connect again. The other two got to the point there I could rename them then you would get the “something went wrong” and they could never rename them. All 4 actually got stuck at that point but turning two off and on and waiting for them to flash did the trick and they were able to get past that. But I’m an hour and 10 minutes in and so far these are pretty much junk compared to the MANY other TP link switches, dimming switches, plain, and 3 way, many of the plain switched outlets, and 8 or so of the power metering outlets, metering surge strips, the plain 3 outlet surge strips, a couple of the outdoor outlets as well as a couple of the color changing bulbs. Pretty much EVERYthing else from they is awesome working in great harmony with Alexa, and some basic IFTTT simple scripts. I’m about the click another bulb off and on with a second between each power cycle to reset it again, then I will have another 10 minutes to contemplate at it tries to connect to the network again. Hopefully this is a bad batch and has some faulty firmware. My other gripe is for TP-links support is if you send an email, you will get 1 and only 1 response per day, luckily the one previous faulty product I had was from Amazon and I could return it for full refund from them otherwise TP link was going to charge to return. 2 hours in, I’m subtracting a star as these don’t even function as light bulbs even once they have flaked out. They have an annoying blink maybe once per minute. I have documented my findings and troubleshooting steps and opened a ticket. I was SO positive about how well all my TP link gear has worked so far that I already tossed the boxes into recycling and I just went to fish them out of the can.

Installed about 1.5 months ago and so far working very well. Not sure how long the bulb will last, but judging by other Kasa products I purchased, I would be surprised if the quality of this was poor and it died anytime soon. Along with other Kasa products I bought, this also brought peace of mind going on vacation recently, being able to switch a lamp on/off at will, even from outside of Canada!
