Almost 5 stars. Need better directions
I recently purchased the Govee T3 backlighting set, and overall, Iâm loving it. The installation was a breeze, and the lights work great right out of the box. The immersive lighting experience it provides truly enhances my viewing, and I couldnât be happier with the performance.However, I did run into some trouble when it came to color calibration. The process wasnât as straightforward as Iâd hoped, and unfortunately, the instructions for the app usage were lacking. Govee doesnât seem to offer any comprehensive written directions on how to fully utilize the appâs features and settings, which is a shame because the app is essential to unlocking the full potential of the lights.For these reasons, Iâm giving it 4 stars. Itâs an excellent product, but clearer guidance on app functionality would take it to the next level. Hopefully, Govee can improve the documentation to make the experience even better for future users.

5 stars from a snob
This is the first item Iâve ever reviewed on Amazon. The reason Iâm doing it now is not because Govee is a small company that really needs my endorsement, but because this product is so absurdly good that it actually warrants the time to praise it.I want to add that I have used the Phillips Hue products and environment extensively. This product, on its own and in comparison to the Phillips hue competitor, is tremendous. Setup is so easy. The lights are fantastically bright, the strip feels durable, the color matching is excellent, and itâs simply a better product than the Hue version in every way. You donât even need to download an app for the light sync to work, which is amazing on its own. That said, you should download it anyway because itâs easy to use and helps you dial in everything to your liking.One last time, this kit and the product as a whole are so good and I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

Still dialing it in, mixed feelings
I am loving the new camera’s ease of application compared to the T1, and the lights going completely off when the screen is displaying black/darkness really deepens the immersion. However, it feels like there’s a delay when brightness returns almost as if the unit is “waking up”? Most of the color seems to match well when set to about 10% Saturation and erring on the blue side of the White Balance. I am also not seeing a great difference between the new Game and Movie modes but perhaps I need more time with it. This was an upgrade for me from a Sony X950G 55″ with a T1 kit to a Sony Bravia 8 65″ with the T3 so there are a handful of new features I am adjusting to. Other than the delayed changes once in awhile this has been pretty great and I am close to selecting 5 stars, maybe I’ll revise it later.

Worth the money!
I LOVE these lights. The response from the camera to the lights and bars is seamless. It matches the screen perfectly without much adjustment needed in the app. Installing was super easy. The one thing Iâm not a super fan of is the grip the camera has on the tv as it is pretty loose. I absolutely love this product and recommend it!

calibration can test patients
It’s cool. The lights are fun but, other lights can and will affect them. These are definitely to be used in a dark movie theater atmosphere. If there is a reflection of light or glare near the edge of the TV, it will pick it up displaying white-red light instead of what should be the transposed color. The app is nice but, the calibration process almost sent the whole setup to the trash.Worth it if they are on sale, not at full price.

This thing is a great edition
I thought I was going to be bothered by the camera hanging from the top of the tv. But you forget itâs there after you get into your movie or show. The lights make the picture feel like itâs coming out of the screen when itâs properly synced up. I looked into doing this from scratch and it would have taken me hours to get it all to work. For the price and ease of use this was worth it.

I’ve been thinking of getting a backlight for my TV setup, but because of the price, I always put it aside. But recently, I spent 2k$ on my Bose sound system. Why not spend a little more than 100 just to complete the setup? I am not disappointed, although the backlight is not as accurate as it shows on the screen, but it is close enough. The backlight and camera are legit, but I don’t like the feel of the 2 side lights. It’s plastic and easy to topple down; I just wish they even made the stand more solid and sturdy to make it more stable. But aside from that it’s a good buy.
