    Surprised me
    I’m in the process of replacing all my WiFi cameras so I’ve been testing the main players in the $30 or less price range. To be honest, when I first opened the package I was not impressed. It didn’t seem quite as polished as some of the other ones I’m looking at. I gave it a try anyway and was surprised by some things. Setup was easy and the camera has voice prompts like some other cameras. The 3k image is great. My other cameras are 2k or less. What surprised me was the speed of the video coming up in the app. It is less than a second where my other cameras take longer to come up. What I didn’t realize about my other cameras is that there is a lag and the video is not truly live. It is a good 1-5 seconds late. That might not seem like much but when you get a motion alert and go to check it, whatever triggered it is most likely gone by the time the video comes up. This camera had less than a second of lag. Also, the app allows you to show 4 cameras live at the same time and it brings them up all at once. My other cameras only allow one at a time and/or you have to open them one at a time. Since I usey cameras for home security, if I need to check them I don’t want to waste time pulling them up one at a time. You can use a memory card to store footage instead of subscribing to their cloud service. This is a must for me because I refuse to pay for a service on top of the price of the camera. Also, there is a setting in the app to disable the ads for their cloud service. I wish it had color night vision at this price point like some of their competitors, but that would probably make it cost more and the speed is more important to me.

    False advertising
    This camera was advertised on Amazon as having dual conectivity including WiFi and Ethernet in the specifications and in fact even showed a picture of the back of the camera showing an ethernet port. I ordered it mainly because of it being able to connect to my network as a wired camera using the ethernet port. The camera shipped on time and I received it within the estimated time frame but when I opend the box, I found that it had no ethernet connection making it strictly WiFi connection.

    Great for Keeping an Eye on My Pets!
    I wanted a camera to monitor my cats while I’m at work, and this one has been perfect. The 355° horizontal and 90° vertical pan-tilt feature allows me to see the entire living room. The 5MP high-definition resolution provides clear images, and the 6x digital zoom lets me check on them closely. The remote control feature is fantastic, allowing me to adjust the camera from my phone. I can place it on the coffee table or mount it on the wall, depending on what works best. This camera has made it easy to keep an eye on my furry friends and ensure they’re safe and sound.

    This FOSCAM camera has exceeded my expectations! The setup was a breeze, and it connected to my 2.4GHz network without a hitch. The image quality is stunning during both day and night. The four built-in SMD IR-LEDs provide a wide and clear night vision range of up to 26ft. The ability to customize the detection areas is very practical. I can focus on the areas that matter most and avoid unnecessary alerts. The privacy mask feature is also a great addition, protecting my family’s privacy.
