Beats the original ring doorbell in nearly every way.
I purchased this doorbell as a replacement for my original “OG” Ring doorbell that I’d had since 2017. Over the last year or so the ring had gotten progressively worse battery life to the point that it would only go about 2 weeks on a charge, this coupled with a difficulty staying connected to the wifi as well the indoor chime not working lead me to look elsewhere for battery powered options and ultimately to this device. Having had this unit installed for a few weeks now I can say without question this is a significantly better device in nearly every way possible I can think of. After two weeks the unit is reporting 91% battery remaining, this even with my random live streaming of the camera just to check on things. Here’s a list of some of my pros and cons I can think of thus far.Pros:1. Battery life appears to be excellent. Where the ring at best was lucky to get a month of battery even when newer, this unit is likely to get several months minimum.2. Lighted doorbell button, when the eufy detects motion the doorbell button lights up, informing the visitor that there’s a doorbell and also a camera there (good for security.) The ring did not have this feature when on battery (it’s always lit when plugged in.)3. The “sim card” like release. This is infinitely better than the security screws on the ring, both screws stripped on me and had to be replaced, this push pin method is fast and easy.4. Video quality much improved from OG Ring.5. Time from doorbell ring to notification is nearly instantaneous, with ring it was several seconds in most cases if lucky.6. Motion detection is great, I am often notified of the motion before the visitor has reached the doorstep.7. No monthly/yearly fee: with the ring you had to pay $30/year to view historical videos, if you happened to not check a camera while the event was happening you were out of luck, with this unit and a $10 memory card the history is always there to see for no fee.8. Inside chime is included – with the ring you had to purchase separately or buy a bundle, either way the cost was higher than this bundle on Amazon.Cons:1. No hardwire option – this isn’t an issue for me since my home didn’t have a hard wired doorbell, but for those with a hardwire existing this would be great to never charge it. I believe eufy makes another model with this option.2. Doorbell chime lacking in options for sounds – this is a bit nitpicky but the chime sounds are boring at best, the ring definitely had some fun sounds for the holidays, this is not a functional issue and one that could be easily rectified if they wanted to.Overall I am extremely pleased with this device and would recommend it to friends over the ring doorbell from here on out. I was previously a ring apologist and convinced several friends to buy one, but for me in my home this is a better device in nearly every way possible. I think if you have a hardwire that works then you may think twice about the battery option only but otherwise this is fantastic for the price and performance.

A Terrific Doorbell Monitor with No Subscription Fees
I had a Ring doorbell, but I was tired of them raising the subscription price every year. To me, they are ripping off their customersThis unit has a much better video and audio than the Ring. Seriously better. Motion detection is much better also. No false notifications like the Ring had.Easy to install. No wires needed. Battery life TBD, but still shows a full charge after a few weeks of use. Easy to charge when it is needed. Just pops out to plug into a USB B mini-cord.App is easy to download. Works great. Connects with Alexa so it will announce what you want through Alexa, or Google or Apple.Has a second unit which is plugged into an outlet in the house. The memory card in the indoor unit records all events, thus no need for a subscription. This keeps the events system secure, since it is inside the house. Unit is also the chime. So you can have events announced just through the chime, or the app or Alexa (Google Home or Siri) or any combination.Works much better than Ring and no subscription fees. One of my best purchases of the past few years.

Easy to Install & Useâ¦Removing to Charge It, Not So Much
Doorbell was easy to install & works great. However, I thought I would not be able to use it any longer after the battery ran out, because it needs to be removed from the mount to be recharged, & removing it from the mount proved extremely difficult. I think I misunderstood how the âDoor Mounting Pinâ that allows for removal worked, & that was my bad, but I donât feel the instructions were clear on this. It is great that thieves are not able to remove the bell from the mount, but I should not have had this much trouble trying to remove it, OR the charging area should not be on the underside of the unit, so that if even if there is a mishap or misunderstanding in the mounting process, the bell can still be charged. I finally was able to pry the bell out of the mount, & it is pretty scratched up on the side, but still usable. It takes great video & I love the chimes, so Iâm glad it worked out, but I feel there is room for improvement in the instructions regarding the use of the Door Mounting Pin & removing the unit from the mount.

Great product with a small hiccup during set up
Just like all Eufy products Iâve used, this one does not disappoint. Installation was easy and clear.I had a small issue with connecting the doorbell after the chime. Firstly, if you are ordering both the chime and doorbell, connect the chime first. Select the second option as shown in my screenshot above. If you select the last option, the doorbell will not connect.

This a great, high quality doorbell. Connected right away, clear picture. Very responsive. And it looks great. Itâs wireless with a solid Anker battery. I love that I donât have to pay 5$ a month for a cloud service with this one. SD card goes into the chime and records all door events locally. Why anyone would want to pay 100$ a year for cloud service is beyond me. Everything I have from Anker is solid. I donât expect anything less from this. And Anker service is absolutely awesome. They will help you with all adjustments, no need to return with Anker. If you see you have a lag, you routeur is simply too far from chime and doorbell. Just put resolution to medium. Itâs an easy fix. Looking over the doorbell events is easy as pie. Then just swipe to left to delete the ones you donât want. I have a lot of land so I donât need to adjust my zones. But if you find battery life is draining faster than you thought, put detection to human only and turn the camera away from the street. Also, very easy to adjust your view zones to lower unnecessary detections. Like I said, get in touch with Anker and you will love your doorbell. Local storage, I love it, no brainerâ¦â¦.

This door bell is super easy to install. The quality is great and really modernized the look of my house.The battery is great except it drained quick when i first got it because was playing with it do much.The video (1080) and sound quality is also top notch. I like that they have versions at different price points.Best of all, no subscription and your data is stored locally. Needs better integration with google home but that is more of a nice to have feature and the company was very responsive to this feedback. Overall i highly recommended.

We bought this because we wanted a lower cost security system. Initially, I thought the price was high, but if your buying this for yourself as a do it yourself system, then chances are lower priced systems are of lower quality and when it comes to do-it yourself security, you need it to work each time, every time.Eufy is by Anker, which for me, is a trusted, high quality, high value company. It was a no brainer. The battery needs to be charged once every 2 months in my neighborhood (I have a son who has lots of friends that are always at the door). However, I can see in less traffic areas, you qouls probably get even more than 180 days of life that the company says you will get. It takes 2-3 hour or so to charge to full, which for me is great. Only down side to this, and would be a GREAT benefit to me is if they integrated the video portion into Google Nest. They have it for Echo Show, but I don’t care for Echo devices (Feel they get things wrong too often, and I demand a lot out of my tech. But that’s subjective, and by no means a fact, just a preference). I also like the no fees, just pop an SD card into it, and hook it up to your phone and Bobs your uncle (Uncle Bob is a good man, or woman, or non-binary).One last thing, I’ve used many Anker products, and the customer service from them is nothing short of perfect. Fast responses and quick and decisive action by their customer sales people is worth the price of admission. Always buy products that their companies stand by!

We bought this unit for front door monitoring because we did not want to pay for a subscription model, and the positioning of it does not lend to using the existing doorbell wiring. The unit was easy to install, has good resolution, and works well with the Eufy mobile app. However, the claim of 6 month battery life is NOT EVEN CLOSE!After installing the first one, we simply left the monitoring on 24×7. The battery lasted about a week before it was surprisingly dying. We checked the battery saving tips provided by the company (e.g. minimize distance between hub and doorbell) to make sure that we were taking steps to optimize the battery life. However, after going through a couple of rounds of this with no battery life improvement, we returned the unit and purchased another, based on the assumption that we had just received a faulty unit (it happens). Anyway, the second unit was no better. We resorted to turning on and off the coverage to save battery life, but this is not ideal.I should add that we are not talking about a period of arctic conditions or anything that could provide a natural explanation for this poor performance. My advice is to get the wired version, but if that will not work for you, stay away from this product.

It works like it says. No need for a subscription (Micro SD not included, bought a 128GB) and easy to setup and install. 3M taped it to my door and it isn’t going anywhere. Only had it for a month now so still to be seen when colder weather kicks in but so far it works great. Glad I made this choice over the dozens out there.
