Easy set up, full function, and reliable
Unlike other smartplugs that I have used, these were really easy to set up and quickly connected to my 5Ghz wifi extender. It gives me immediate feedback about the voltage delivered to the plug, ampere draw by the device plugged in (a single 1300W heater), and power used by day, week, month, or year. An on/off schedule can be set by time of day, by sunset/sunrise, and a feature that I really like by local temperature (presumably from a nearby weather station (like you see on wunderground etc). I use mine to control heaters to prevent freezing temperatures, so I use the latter feature.

Great for monitoring electricity use
It makes me a bit nervous to give a little piece of Chinese tech my WiFi password, but I guess I can always unplug it. The plugs were easy to connect to the app and give me real time feedback about my usage. I can also turn on and off from anywhere using the app. I like them so much, I gave some to a friend

Working great!!
I purchased 8 of these 5ghz plugs because of my network. The ones I have wonât stay connected. Iâve tried 2 so far and Iâm getting weak network error. Iâm sitting 18 inches from my cable router. I thought these would hook right up since my network runs on 5ghz. Iâll read the 1 point font manual again and will report back. As promised I did go back to the manual. After a few failed attempts I finally got 1 to sign on to my network. After that the rest were no problem. Last night and this morning they are working fine. So now that they are connected and working Iâll give them 5 stars! 1 week later⦠these are so much better than the 2.4ghz. They stay connected, I even changed my phone and everything transfered over to the new phone with no problems.

SO much easier than 2.4GHz plugs with Alexa
I’ve been using a variety of 2.4Ghz plugs – three different brands. The best was probably the Amazon Basics, but they all were a pain to re-set. “Power off for 10 seconds, then power on, then hold the button for five seconds…” What they never say is “… and hope that this time the device will find the appropriate WiFi SSID.”When I got these, two of the four immediately were located by the Smart Things app – about 10 seconds after plugin of the device an icon shows up in the app. After that finishing setup was a breeze. Once Smart Things had them, Alexa acknowledged them immediately. Only issue in my case was that I was replacing the 2.4GHz plugs so I had to delete the old devices before the new devices could use the same names and it didn’t occur to me before starting. The other two plugs required being reset (hold button for 12 seconds) and then they worked just like the first two. Unfortunately, this is not obvious and it took me a few minutes to deduce this.If you’re new to smart plugs, skip the 2.4GHz ones and go straight to the 5GHz models – you’ll find them much easier to setup. If you’re tired of resetting plugs, it’s worth the investment of moving to these new models.

Best plugs ever!
I have lots of different smart plugs in my house. Iâve gotten very good at programming the different brands. Some are a real pain! I needed some that would connect to the 5G network. Bought these and literally took 30 seconds to program. Love these plugs and highly recommend them!

Couldn’t get them to connect to WiFi
I had tried a different brand that only worked on 2.4GHz and had issues getting those to connect, so I decided to spring for an upgraded version that works on 2.4 and 5GHz.After talking with the manufacturer and with my internet company, I tried multiple smart plugs, and not one connected to WiFi. I really, really wanted these to work, but they didn’t for me.

This Mini Smart Plug supports both 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connections and is compatible with Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings, making it a convenient choice for those already invested in these ecosystems. The setup process is straightforward, and I had no problems with it.I like its energy monitoring capability, which helps users keep track of their power usage and potentially save on electricity bills. The mini size ensures it doesnât take up too much space and wonât block the other plug-in. The remote control and scheduling functions add to its convenience, enabling users to manage their devices from anywhere and set specific times for them to turn on or off. I used it to turn off the fan beside my bed after falling asleep, and it worked great for that purpose.

This smart plug wifi connected outlet by EIGHTREE is a great idea for connecting, controlling and monitoring devices that you would plug into it. It is a single outlet that can handle 1500 watts of power or 15 Amps of current so it is capable of handling many household devices. It is compatible with Alexa, Google Home and Smart Things and SmartLife app and it provides an energy monitor function that many of these types of remote outlets do not. Itâs also ETL and FCC certified and comes with a 2-year customer-service which is a nice bonus. It connected to my WiFi network without issue and showed up immediately in my SmartLife app. Once in you app of choice controlling it is a simple process and works even with voice control. Yo can also set this on a schedule, control it manually through the app, add a timer, etc. This is a great little wifi connected remote controlled outlet and I would recommend it.

This is great if you are looking to make your outlet into a smart outet. The app is pretty simple to use and common amongst these types of devices. If you’re looking to replace your one outlet to smart plugs, this is a good option. I guess for me, I’m a little less impressed because there are options that allow you to plug in more and you can control each individual outlet so that some are on and some are off. So I don’t think that this is the best option out there, but if you’re not needing more outlets, this is good choice.
