I am absolutely de-LIGHTED by Cync!
I pre-ordered these under-counter lights because I read the product announcement at CES and was anxiously awaiting their availability. As a backstory, I have a fairly nice home, but had cheap fluorescent lighting in the kitchen. It was never bright enough to read cookbooks by, and I never liked the artificial look. Meanwhile, I was replacing different sized fluorescent tubes at a constant rate. Finally, the ballast failed on the longest light, and I decided I’d replace it with a quality product.Initially I was drawn to this lightbar because of the end-to-end light emitting capacity, and the interesting new smarthome features. Little did I know, I was buying an easy-to-install product with GREAT features for the DIYer. After I removed the old light unit, I found that this new system has color-coded wire connectors inside the housing so once you push your house wiring into place, they’re locked! No crimping and no twist-on wire caps! And, once you’re ready to install it under your cabinet, the system has pre-installed screws… So you won’t have to worry about dropping any behind your cabinets.The system supports joining multiple fixtures, so if you have cabinets of usual size, or want a long run of light, you can combine up to 10 (!) powered by a single 120v/60hz wire. I connected two of this model together for my cabinet, and if I had one gripe; it is that the connector doesn’t lock into place when connected. My solution was to install one fixture and then press the other against the first one as I screwed it down.The system powered up like a dream. I installed the Cync software on my phone and configured the light, and it showed me the difference between standard and “GE Reveal” light.Now I can read cookbooks with amazing clarity and take beautiful Instagram photos of the food I’m cooking. Family and visitors have already commented on how much nicer the kitchen looks now that I have quality lighting to cook and eat with.

Nice and bright, challenging install due to short linking cables
I really like how bright these lights are. My the cabinets are 33″, 30″, and 39″ wide, so chose the 24″ lights, each centered with the cabinets, which offers plenty of light. Because the center cabinet is over the sink, the 12″ linking cable was too short to cover that change in height. Unfortunately, GE only offers a 36″ cable as an additional purchase, which is way too long for my needs. The linking cable is a simple 3 wire cable, so I spliced them with inline Wago connectors to get the right length. I also bought the puck lights in a 3 pack for 2 small cabinets on the other side of the kitchen. I like how the smart feature turns then on and off together with the lights in the other side of the room even though they are powered separately and the spare power cord from these lights works with the pucks, which only came with one power cord.

Do not work consistently
I bought many of the Cync GE reveal under cabinet lights. The 12″ 18″ and 6 pucks. They are pretty when they work, but both matter apps as well at the GE cync app show lights as unresponsive over and over. It was a horrible experience and I ended up returning them all. I have TONS of smart lights and tried disconnecting, resetting, upgrading firmware, and power resets. Nothing worked to get them all to work at the same time. I feel like it may be a networking issues within the device. ONE always works. But it’s a roll of the dice that others will. Lights like these are what gives smart home devices a bad name.

So bright and adjustable!
My wife and I are in our 30’s and not new to DIY and tech. This light bar (24”) is by far the best light and easy to install that we have ever had! Don’t hesitate to purchase.
