Took a few tries to set up…
Was about to chunk after several failed attempts connecting. However, once connected they work well. Not the best app, not very intuitive.

Great for special occasions
On Valentineâs Day I turn the color setting to red. The rest of the year itâs pretty much on white. I like a warm white (about 2500K) so I donât need to change it to the industrial looking cool blue color temperature. But itâs nice to have so many possibilities. Installation is super easy since it doesnât need a can, only a hole in the ceiling and then it secures with clips. I use Alexa to control these lights most the time. Overall great if you want to create a fun mood during parties or holidays, or just want to be able to choose your own unique shade of white light.

Received someoneâs old lights
I received this package of 3 Cync recessed lights and the packaging looked new but when I opened the box, each light was used and not even the GE Cync brand. Plus 2 of the 3 lights had the mounting brackets broken off

I would give more stars if I could
These are amazing! And so simple to install, set up and control!! I just received my 3-pack. Opened the box, briefly read the instructions, made sure the switch was off, got on my step ladder, pulled out my old bulb, took down the old canister, tried to figure out what connection option I needed to use for the housing canister (this was probably the most complicated part and I say that very lightly, as I don’t normally install recessed lights–took maybe a minute or two), decided on the flip clips, unscrewed the springs, screwed on the flip clips, got back up on the ladder, screwed in the new fixture, pushed in the housing, gave it a little twist if needed to clip in (one needed it, the other went perfectly flush on the first push), got off the ladder, flipped on the lights, let there be light, scanned the QR code for Cync, downloaded and opened the app, detected my bulbs, did the set up for each, added them to Alexa and done! Amazingly simple. Wonderfully great. Easily controllable through the app or though Alexa. I have them in a group so I can control 2 lights as one, but I can also control them individually. I received 3, but only used 2. I’m now planning on buying 2 more sets of 3 and switching over the kitchen lights to these, just because it is so nice to have such control over the lighting.I just moved into a new house and have 2 lights over my sink and 7 lights over the rest of the kitchen area. The sink lights are controlled by a switch near the sink and I try to use only these when I can, but I constantly find myself walking out of the room when leaving for the day or retiring for the night and thinking I can flip them off at the hallway switch, which I can’t–so back into the kitchen I would go to turn them off (ok, not the end of the world, but just inconvenient). Now I can just tell Alexa to turn them off. Wonderful! And they are reasonably priced for what they offer, at least at the time of this review. And what’s even nicer is when I set up my set of 7, I will be able to control each light individually, even though they are all on one switch. I can’t do that with the switch right now. These were so easy to install and set up I will be looking at other GE Cync products to add to my home. I am very happy with this purchase!!

Can’t go wrong with GE smart lights. I’ve been looking for the screw-in model.
We have several can lights throughout our house, so I jumped at the chance when I saw this set of 4 GE branded LED smart lights that fit our cans and install just by screwing into the light socket.Couldn’t be easier, right? But then I got to thinking about them individually… one is the first light when you step inside the foyer, but it’s on a 3-way switch – does that matter? What if it comes on a different color and my wife gets frustrated like she does when she has to say “OK, Google, turn on fan.” to make our fan run. There are two can lights that light our upstairs hall, but again, 3-ways at both ends. There’s one over the hall closet, but we rarely even turn it on, and just for a second to check the thermostat that’s right there, so I’m not saving any juice.I’m still planning on using these, I just need to do some actual testing.

One of the best retrofit recessed color LED lights!
I’ve always used Hue lights, but had to install GE Cync Reveal HD+ under cabinet lights for our newly-remodeled kitchen (Philips doesn’t make them). That was my first introduction to GE Cync lights, and I’m very impressed with their quality! Since then, I’ve added a couple of GE Cync LED strips and recessed ceiling lights and they’ve been awesome! These lights are retrofit, which means that you don’t need to mess with installing a new box, etc. Just remove the old bulb, connect this light using the regular bulb base and secure it in place. That’s it! If your recessed light unit is old like mine and doesn’t have anything to attach the “rabbit ears” clips, you’ll need to purchase “C Clamps” and screw them to the sides of the housing. Alternatively, they also include little tabs that sticks out from the side and could be pushed up to keep the light in place (without the use of C clamps), but I’ve never been able to get a nice, flushed finish with those. The control of the lights through the app is very similar to the Hue products. You can make rooms, groups, etc and control all aspects of the light (e.g., color, intensity, transitions, etc) from the app. I have 4 of these recessed lights in the office, and 17 under cabinet ones in the kitchen, and a few other ones upstairs. In addition, the lights are recognized by Alexa during setup and could be controlled through any Echo devices via voice or from the Alexa app. The lights are Matter and HomeKit compatible as well, but I decided to stick with the Cync app and Alexa for consistency with other smart devices/lights I had around the house. The lights are responsive to commands, and so far none of them disconnected or froze. So far I’m very happy with these recessed color LED lights. Highly recommended!
