Almost worth five stars… the double sided tape needs work.
I have three sets of these in my office. Have their motion sensor by the door and when I walk in, the lights turn on… I love it. Get some double sided tape, the 3M stuff on here works just fine… be liberal with it.I am a Phillips Hue fanatic… they’re everywhere, except in my office and I’m glad I moved everything around.

DO NOT BUY – CONNECTION AND MOUNTING SYSTEMS ARE AWFUL !!!
To begin with, i am NOT mechanically challenged. Two issues (so far) are the connections between the panels, and the method they have for installing and mounting these things to the wall. Starting with the connections, the jump wires that go from panel to panel must be snapped into their receivers on each panel. This is NOT done easily, especially when the first one is already mounted and you are trying to make the connection from the “out” pigtail of that one into the receiver on the next panel. the pigtail and the receiver must be lined up EXACTLY perfectly or they will not snap together. Significant force is needed to make this happen, and even then, you may still have to remove that plug and try again. Very difficult to make this connection while it is on the wall. this is for EVERY connection you make from panel to panel. Absolutely STUPID method of connections. Now on to the really stupid part, the mounting method. The instructions have you applying double back tape to the back side of one panel, pressing it against the wall, hold for 30 seconds, and then use the “removal tool” to separate the light panel from the backing clip. IF….. and i repeat, IF you are successful in getting the tool to actually separate the panel and the backing while on the wall, you are then supposed to use 3 little nails to anchor the backing panel to the wall and then reinstall the lighted front panel. The problem is in the stupid tool that is supposed to separate the two. Simply put, it does NOT work while the light panel is on the wall. When you use enough finger force to insert that tool, it pries the whole backing panel (double back tape and all) off the wall!!!!! 2 hrs later and i’ve only got 2 panels mounted. I’m trying to figure out a different method of mounting which may include using the cardboard templates as a means of identifying where the nails should be installed, separating the backing from the light panel and nailing the backing in place and THEN installing the lighted front panel in place. In short, this frustration is clearly enough to make me never buy another one of these and to make strong recommendations to find a different brand with a better means of anchoring to the wall and making the electrical connections. Absolutely a STUPID system for both on this GE – Cync brand!!!! BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND.Review Part 2 – Tried to install these for the second night in a row. got through 7 with a modified mounting strategy …. and now the last 4 of 7 do not light up/turn off with the others. checked connection. was not the connection. Took all of them off the wall, repackaged and filed for a return through Amazon. Again, repeating comment from above…. DO NOT BUY…… For $200…. certainly not worth it!!!!

If you can set install these lights without hurdles its a good product for the money
When my purchase arrived i went over the instructions. I believe GE cync should put more warning lables on the tools provided. BE WARNED IF YOU DROP THIS UNIT WHEN IT IS ASSEMBLED YOU RUN THE RISK OF DAMAGING THE CABLE to connect all of your lights. these cables cannot be found anywhere online. so you have to reach out to Cync to retrieve replacement parts. they responded quickly and I am waiting on receiving my package. the adhesive strips they come with are useless. go to your local tool store and purchase some velcro/latch adhesive pads. the adhesive pads that they come with are so thin it’s hard to tell if it latched to the wall. the cables have arrows that indicate the direction and have a punch-out connector end that can be installed backwards if you are not paying attention. i had to take disassemble mines resulting in me damaging my cables. they should be pointing away from the last assembled light. they are still a good product for the money and we love them.

Pretty, but doesn’t work very well.
I got this for my boyfriend because he’s always liked colorful lights and we didn’t have any in the new apartment yet. I thought these were going to be easy to set up and lovely to use. Boy was I wrong! The set up with the 3 little nail things first of all is a joke. And trying to use the command hook like things didn’t seem to be working very well either. It took hours to get them set up the first time and they worked just fine until we decided it was time to change the design. Now we can’t get more than 3 lights to work at once and it’s been a giant pain in the butt. I will absolutely never be buying these again and unfortunately will not ever recommend them to others. For the price point, these should have lasted more than 10 months and been easier to set up. What a disappointment.

    Adhesive issues
These panels look great! Honestly the only issue if the adhesive didn’t stick to the wall, which created problems. the tiles stayed up for two days then at 4 AM all fell off the wall, which broke the connecting power strips. I believe the adhesive pads are not thick enough to make full contact with the wall. There are some tiny paneling nails included; however it seems to be too dangers to hammer them into the wall as it would probably damage the panels themselves. i now have to come up with a better way to hang them and figure out how to buy more of the connectors.
