Too much trouble
Finding a single gang smart switch was too good to be true. I followed directions carefully. My WiFi was 2.4Ghz. I bought single USB power adapters. Set up the hub first. First, they’re needlessly tricky to set up even when following all directions. But the real issue is that they simply stop working after a few months. Instructions say you can reset it by pressing on it until it flashes intermittently but NONE of the 6 that I bought reset. I searched online and I’m far from the only person to deal with this. The part that really bugs me is that I also have 5 Broadlink RM4 Mini devices in the rooms. They work flawlessly. I rarely write a negative review. I usually don’t bother unless the item is really that bad or that much trouble. I do hope Broadlink reads this to give me ideas because 3 of the 5 units are out of the return window so I’m stuck with them.

Worked like a charm… until it didn’t!
When I first bought these light switches I was so glad to get one that does not require the neutral wire. Installation was very easy and I got full integration with my Alexa and Google. Everything was going more or less fine with a couple times needing to reconnect to the Hub or setup the switches again; but never to remove the wired connections. About a year into using them they disconnected from the network and my actions to reset the switches (long press one button) were no longer working. Once you loose the ability to reconnect that’s it! Now the switched work like ordinary normal switches (at least I can still use them without the smartness). Not sure, but I feel it must be a firmware update that ruined the switched as none of the three I installed were able to reset at that point.I should mention that around the same time that my switches went bad my ISP provider started switched out my router and it had both 2.5GHz and 5GHz wifi. Not sure if that could be related but all the same; failed after a year.

Used to love them, now I hate them
Where do I start?, I purchased a pair of TC3-1 smart switches and the corresponding S3, so far so good, they worked nicely for 3 months, so I purchased another 4, then the honey moon was over, they started failing and they fail miserably, no matter how many times you reset them and re-pair them, they keep getting randomly offline. just ended up being an overpriced light switch with a nice led on it.Don’t waste your money, look somewhere else.

I have 1920s house so of course no neutral wire, this switch is the real deal if you are in that situation, literally just two wires and you are all set. Now the bad, I had a simple 2 way switch before, the old metal box did not fit this switch, it was too wide, I was able to alter the plastic casing using a saw slowly carefully then it fit after, setting up the app was also hard at times, found it on Google, had to install hub first, then detached the light switch from its casing find the QR code and add it (the base with wires going in and switch actually detach with a flathead screwdriver), once it was added had to keep hub 10ft from switch max however it works it’s stable, the design is elegant, and it is the only switch I have found that doesn’t need a capacitor involved when no neutral (this also comes with one but I didn’t need it)
