The Model Does not Pair
I have snd still use other BN-Link Products that work just fine. In the last few months I have bought two BN-LINK Outdoor Smart Dual Outlet, Heavy Duty Wi-Fi Plugs, and either one pairs. I have followed instructions on the app as I have done with others, I have followed the instructions in the box, I have followed website videos and they donât pair. I also had my adult son try independently. And he quit after an hour because it did not work.

Apps are poorly explained but it works
I bought this to go with some string lights I installed over my patio. I was specifically looking for something that could be controlled via Bluetooth because I live in a two family house and wanted both apartments to be able to control it without having to be on the same Wi-Fi network or share a physical remote. I also didnât want to worry about batteries or losing the remote, so phone app control seemed ideal. After reading other reviews saying Bluetooth didnât work I was concerned, but bought it anyway because I didnât find good alternatives with Bluetooth.The apps and the process of connecting them to the dimmer is the only criticism I have. After installing the manufacturers app I couldnât get it to work with Bluetooth, but once I installed the Smart Life app the Bluetooth controls worked fine. It also worked well via Wi-Fi and via Google Home by voice command. If you are entirely non-technical just buy one with a physical remote.By the way, I did not try to set it up initially using bluetooth. All settings are retained after being unplugged, so if you plan to use it with bluetooth you don’t need WiFi to reach the area where you’ll actually be using it. I plugged it in inside my house, configured it via WiFi and then moved it to the outdoor location.The dimming function was excellent but it turns out the lights at their brightest are just fine, so I donât anticipate using the dimmer function â Iâll just be using the physical on/off switch on the unit. It is still a great deal for me as it is a great price even just for a waterproof outdoor switch.

Set this up with the SmartLife app and it was instantly recognized and easy to set up. Nice led dimming capabilities that occur in steps and no flickering. Switch remembers last dimmer setting when turned off as well.

Easy to connect to SmartLife app I use. The cable a bit short and rigid – my outside outlet is upside down so it’s difficult to put the box in a position with outlet facing down. Not a problem though as it survived snowy/rainy weather.
