Fire Hazard – Do NOT Purchase!
The wires do not secure properly causing them to pop out and can easily cause a fire hazard. I installed them anyway thinking that once they were in place they wouldn’t move and so it wouldn’t be a problem. When I screwed them into the box they would not work. As the unit is tightened into the box it flexes slightly and causes some internal switch to go off and the switch becomes inoperable. Seems like a VERY poor design to me. I would definitely NOT recommend.

Need patience but overall ok
So let’s face it. If you want BLACK smart switches you have limited choices. If you don’t want a “traditional” rocker switch your choices are much more limited and if you don’t want a switch with stupid icons, or colored circles, or flashy RGB bling your choices are virtually non existent. In fact this switch was the ONLY one I could find that ticked all the visual boxes I was looking for. Black with a simple smooth black front, no icons, no RGB, just smooth black. So I was really, really hoping this could function the way I also needed. Which is through Home Assistant. It took s a lot of trial and error and patience, and most of the day but I finally got things up and running and I am fairly if not fully satisfied. The Good:1. As mentioned the looks. If this is what you are looking for you know it2. Home Assistant support. I don’t use Amazon or Google smart homes. I use Apple Home as my front end but everything runs through Home Assistant which gives me a ton of power. This switch once finally up and running works perfectly fine through the Tuya integration in HA.The Bad:1. The overall build quality feels cheap. Not such a huge problem once on the wall and like I said it does look nice, but this is essentially a plastic micro switch dressed up as a light switch.2. Instructions for pairing are difficult. First off there are a few different instructions on their website and you don’t really know which one is the right one. For reference it is the US-SS01 model. Secondly it is easy, or at least it was for me, to misunderstand the instructions. It says to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds to put the switch int pairing mode. In my brain I took this to mean the tiny reset button probably because this is how most devices work. No. When they say power button, they literally me hold the light switch pressed as if you were turning on the light and hold it for 5-10 seconds. The lights will click off and you can let go.3. App sucks and yes you still need to setup in the app. Once I finally got the switch into pairing mode the app would see it just fine but it would always time out when setting up the device after about a minute of a spinning progress bar. I followed all the instructions so yes I had a 2.4ghz wifi for it (I have a special SSID for my IoT devices that is 2.4 only) and yes my phone was on that same wifi and yes the signal was strong. There is literally a wired wifi AP in the ceiling above the switch. Anyway after literally like 10 tries and 10 timeouts I noticed this last try still timed out but when I quit back to the home page the switch was there!4. There is something wrong with the “reset” switch. Ok so I must have screwed this thing into the box then unscrewed it a half dozen times. Why? Because it was always working fine until I screwed it in then it would stop working again. Every time. Finally on a whim I backed out the screw on the reset button side (for me top because I intentionally mounted it upside down as I wanted the depressable part up top) and suddenly it worked! Tighten it back down, bam no worky again. I suspect that the tension when tightened down is tripping the reset switch. Unfortunately this means it is not tight to the wall so there is a small gap between the faceplate and the wall :(5. The terminal are horrendous. This switch doesn’t have pigtails, nor does it have standard screw terminals. I’m not an electrician but it has these weird really small slots that you need a jewelers screwdriver to tighten.Honestly there are a lot of bad point above but if the manufacturer actually cares to improve the product (rare these days) this could be a really good smart switch with a little refinement and it would fill a visual niche that seems unfilled.

Donât bother with these
The wire connections are terrible. The screws donât tighten down on the wire enough to keep it securely fastened. Installing these could be dangerous, with the wires being able to easily come loose.

NOT UL Listed
Got my switches delivered today. Had posted a question about UL listing on amazon and got no answer. With switches in hand, I messaged them on their website. They tell me they are NOT UL listed. I was very excited to use these as they are simple and black. Not being Listed, I’m afraid to install them.
