    These are great by comparison!
    I was making display cabinets as a filming background and wanted some LED strips to give it some character. I had actually already purchased another brand of strips for about eleven dollars less than the current list price of this strip when I was offered these to try out. Honestly, I don’t like downloading non-essential apps on my phone or granting access to my home network to non-essential devices. Ultimately, I decided against utilizing the connectivity and remote operability (other than the included remote control) features of this strip. So, the basis of my comparative experience boils down to two LED light strips that can be operated by a standard remote.The strip that I actually paid for – although extremely highly rated with tons of reviews – ended up being a huge disappointment. The lights were underpowered and none of the colors actually looked like the colors they were meant to be, including white! Thankfully, though, my awful experience with those allowed me to understand just how fantastic this set is by comparison.The lights on this strip are truly bright at the highest setting and dim at the dimmest setting, which sounds like a given, but I know otherwise. The range of colors is also very impressive. Beyond just having preset colors – which are actually true to description – it is possible to dial in custom colors and save the to a memory setting on the remote.I love the modular design! This strip can be used at it full length or it can be shortened by using only some of the included segments. As I now know after having to do some weird folding with the other strips I got, this modular design is a big deal. I also really appreciate that the strip includes some neat light-free connector pieces in the box for placing in corners and over humps and bumps.This strip of lights is really fantastic considering what else is on the market. No, I’ll probably never use the smart features because I just lack the trust necessary. However, even with the smart features stripped out, this set of lights is head and shoulders above the other set I bought and, in my opinion, is worth the additional expense to get a base product that does what I expect. I’ll need more lights soon, and I’ll certainly be buying these next time around instead of buying the cheaper set.

    Great bang for the buck
    I have 2 of these light kits in place in our kitchen, What appealed the most to me was the ability to be able to control via Alexa (have to use Smart Things skill linked to your Do Tint app that controls the LED strips) I finally figured that out after poking around the Do Tint app.The lights themselves were easy to install and connect to the Do Tint app. The app is pretty decent from a control standpoint. I used the power from an outlet above the upper cabinets, and one in the same cabinet the microwave is plugged in. The pictures show the controllers mounted in the cabinet. The other picture is a panoramic view of the lights installed under the upper cabinets. I have seen complaints about the brightness, but ours seem to be fine. We use a combination of white and orange set to 100% and it provides great light for the kitchen counters. If you select one, solid color, like red, they are not that bright. But, that is to be expected.The only CON I see is the remote. You do need to be right on the corded power controller to have it work.Overall, I really like these for the price point.

    This light strip was easy to install and flexible for all the bending to fit in my mini bar. The best part about this lighting strip is the MANY color options and the ability to create my own colors. I created a peachy pink/ salmon color. This is also compatible with my Alexa app, so I can manage the lighting with either the remote or my Echo.

    False advertising
    These lights want you to download a Chinese app that tracks location. The app is highly suspicious for anyone with any sort of a brain and realizes Chinese tech companies have been flagged by US intelligence as malicious in nature. I bought the lights with the intention of connecting them to my home Alexa system for ease of operation. Not to include a suspicious app download on my phone for the Communist Chinese to spy on me and my cell communications etc. These lights are also not Alexa capable. What a joke. Download our app and then get watched by the Chinese or whoever they sell your home security to. Absolutely not happy.

    Very good basic light strips
    I like that they are controllable via Alexa and they do the job that I wanted which was to highlight the drum and the edge of the bookcase.They do get very bright and I have now dimmed them almost to the maximum.It does take an evening, if you are like me, to get the job done properly. Part of that was just going through the app trying different scenes and making my own.I should note that these are not individually addressable LEDs and therefore the entire strip will always be whatever color you want and rotate through them if you want, but it will not have colors chasing each other down the strip.
