If your landlord, housemate, spouse, or other family member says “no” to a video doorbell because they require drilling holes in your house…now they don’t have the excuse.We don’t really have the danger of theft where we live, but when we were gifted a ring last Christmas (yes, a year ago), my spouse took it out of the box but balked at the idea of anchoring it to the door. He wanted to put it on a post on our porch, which would not have worked the way I wanted it to. So, there it sat, by the door, for an entire year.I ordered this because it offers drill-free installation. It definitely would protect your doorbell from theft as well, as it is securely encased in the mounting which is installed around your door and tightened from the inside. The screws to release your device are on the back of the mounting which sits flush to your door, so no one can get to them unless they are inside your home to take the mounting case off entirely. That said, it is easy to do so and not too much time or effort to release your device if you have the kind that needs batteries or recharging.I’m happy that I found this and that I can finally use my doorbell, instead of watching it sit lonely and unused in the catch-all in the foyer.
