Impressed!! Perfect!!
I had a need to add a dome-like camera to my setup… While I had never used one before, and wasn’t sure what to expect with the purchase, I learned quickly I made the right choice! The camera is power-over-ethernet, which was perfectly fine with me (I could use a power adapter or POE switch/hub)… I chose the power adapter part, but with a POE switch I probably would go that route for ease… I was able to get it mounted, using the provided template and security took to disassemble the base from the top, It installed quickly… connecting to the app was easy as scanning a QR code on the base of the camera (I did have to take it back down to scan, but that was my fault.. (I got too eager to play around with it)… anyway.. It added to the app quickly and the image was awesome quality.. Since it was a dome, I was expecting it to be distorted, due to the cover and such.. I was WRONG!! it looks greats!! I also was able to test duing the night and the night vision was awesome also!! I know this will be a awesome camera for your home or your business… now i understand how well the big stores can use these cameras and prevent theft.. because they CAN see all and are VERY CLEAR!! I don’t have a need for another dome at this time, but will keep this one in mind when I do!! You won’t regret this purchase 🙂

Amazing camera for the priced
I knew that Amcrest is a great company that offers great products, but this camera is top notch. The camera is easy to install and the user interface is super easy to use. I like the fact that their refurb was in great shape and I couldn’t tell that it wasn’t new outside of the refurb sticker. I love how sharp the camera image is. If you’re looking for a 4k camera, I’d buy this 10 times over. No regrets!

Another fanastic Amcrest dome camera!
This will be my 9th Amcrest product and my 5th dome camera from them. As always they continue to provide an amazing product. This however will be my first time buying a certified refurbished from them and they did not disappoint. Unless they told me, I could not have been able to tell the difference, the camera had all of the protective films and wrapping on it like when I buy it new from them. What I understand is that they refurbish them in Texas which is pretty cool versus what I would imagine a lot of other companies do and outsource it to another country. The camera is a solid metal body dome camera with POE. Trust when I say this camera can take a beating from the weather as my other 4 cameras have survived multiple hurricanes down here in Florida. The only complaint I have is that I have to clean the domes like every month or so as the infrared night lights will reflect off the dirt and grime that might have built up and affect the night vision. But it is not a big deal honestly, I like the look of the dome cameras as from a distance you can not tell which direction the camera is facing and this will act as a deterrent.

Great POE Camera!
Every Amcrest product I have purchased so far has been great, and so far this camera doesn’t disappoint. The night vision is absolutely amazing and the easy set up of the camera is awesome. I also really like that you are able to add your own SD card to save the recordings on. I have this one mounted in my back yard so I can keep an eye on my dog.

Easy to setup ip camera
Even though its a refurbished version, it came with the latest config and was well packaged. I frankly, couldn’t tell a difference between this and a new one. Easy setup through IP web pages. Highly recommend.

15 Amcrest units ordered, 4 dead, two of which are this model
Where to start… the short and simple of this is I was tasked a couple of years ago with putting some rudimentary security in for an office building. This has been an ongoing project so we started with the same body style but slightly lower MP, same footprint as far as I can see. We’ll talk about the one pictured here in a minute. This one’s not dead, just shipped without screws.I placed one of these outside, water got in and ruined it, seal was breached. OK, cool, they sent me another one. Same thing happened and I was told that I needed to have the thing silicone attached to prevent water from getting on the back. OK, silicone attachment, torqued the thing down, five rains later water’s in the unit. Talked to support again, they said the sideways mount I was using may be higher than IP 67 (immersion up to 1m depth) so mount it overhead. OK, I build an L-Bracket and it should not get anything but occasional side rain which can’t be helped. Side of building, 25 feet up, birdhouse mounting tech, and it dies. This one I can’t see water ingress, may have a straight up failure.Decide to not go with this for outdoor use and use the outdoor cameras indoors. Looks a little strange, but meh they worked fine indoors. Purchased some outdoor cameras that appeared to actually be made for outdoors and since we’re not using these for outdoors any more I went to install in office. So here’s where this one comes into play – while configuring it I noticed it rebooted when I moved it, I should have stopped right then but I needed to get this camera in that day and… no.On a ladder the contents of the camera come popping out at me. I attempt to push them in, short the thing, it reboots, short it again, try and come up with a solution as I have to get this done at this point. I look, there’re 3 mounting points where there are supposed to be screws to hold the motherboard in. There are 0 screws installed. Not the wall anchor screws, not the bulb screws, motherboard screws missing.I found a pair of eyeglass screws that I managed to make do as I had to get this done before labor day weekend. Tweeted at their support, no answer as of yet but it’s labor day weekend so not particularly expecting one until Tuesday. That said… picture quality is good, support site is lacking, they attempt to force you to register an email address to get firmware updates, auto firmware updates which the camera shows in settings never work. Some of the other cameras (same body, not all 4k) have been in operation for a couple of years now with no issues. I would not trust the IP rating they list. I’m sure it tested to those specs but when you put one outside in changing temperatures no.Software appears to be a skinned Shenzhen OEM piece with logos and English. It works, but you’ll probably want Blueiris or use an http://FTP.So yeah, only hardware issue is water can get in them if there’s not much side protection.

Bad visibility at night
Vision during the day is great. But it plummets at night. It’s misty and hazy. It looks like the rubber gasket around the lens doesn’t press into the dome enough, allowing reflections in that obscure the view. The equivalent bullet cameras are excellent and provide the same viewing angle. So I would use those rather than these domes.
