No impressed
I have a Amcrest DVR with 1080p cameras I chose to replace a few with Amcrest color night Cameras, I ordered 3 the first one was defective and the video would cut out and the led light would pulsate. I swapped it out with the other one and it works. I cannot get the camera to work in any other mode other then 980 the camera is adjustable and I tried all four camera modes to include changing the DVR from auto to manual (AHD, CVI, etc) with no luck. Never had an issue with Amcrest in the past but I will pass on these I’m leaving the two up for now and returning the defective one

For use with DVR via coaxial
(Item: Amcrest Night Color Turret Analog Camera w/ 131ft Full Color Nightvision, Security Camera Outdoor for CCTV DVR, Built-in Microphone, 112° FOV, 5MP@25fps AT5N28-W)This is a decently build camera from Amcrest. And itâs mostly based on the price of the camera. I had previously used Amcrest cameras with a DVR for over 15 years. In all that time, we had only 1 issue with their DVR (which needed to be replaced), and we had no issues with any of the cameras. This turret camera is similar to many of the ones we previously had. The were built more robust in the past. More metal housings and fixings. This one has more plastic. But I donât doubt the IP67 Rating. In general, Amcrest offers some fairly good hardware/cameras and his one is no different.I hooked this one up to my older DVR and it connected just fine. That older DVR is only HD so, Iâm not sure if the cameras image quality would be better/clearer on a newer DVR.The âNightColor Visionâ marketing lingo is a bit deceiving. The camera offers B&W images in total darkness. But like all other cameras, it needs an additional light source (either from the spotlights on the camera or from additional spotlights on your house) to give you a full color image.Just a note, the Amcrest DVR and online app experience is just âokâ. Both interfaces look like they were created more from a technicianâs point-of-view rather than a consumerâs point-of-view. Everything from logging in to changing settings to viewing videos is learnable. But, just not intuitive in the slightest. That aside though, this is a good camera because it doesnât try to overstep its capabilities. It doesnât offer speciality features like subject-detection (human vs pets) and motion zones. But because of that, thereâs less for the cameraâs processor to do (and less for it to mess up). It offers a good image over coaxial, itâs weatherproof and dependable. And at this price point ($60 at the time of the review), itâs a good value for a stationary camera. Perfect for places like the sides of your house, a back yard, a commercial building hallway or a loading zone. Someplace where you wonât need additional features but want a good image quality.

A very decent CCTV camera
I’ve been using CCTV cameras for 15 years, and this one might be one of the better ones I’ve ever used. The picture quality from the camera is superb. Because of the excellent lighting, the image is vivid and colorful both during the day and at night. I have installed these cameras in all of my rental houses. The camera is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Dahua (lorex) model marketed under a different brand. The camera’s OSD menu has a lot of options so that you may adjust the settings to your liking. To see clearly in the dark, these cameras use bright LEDs. They work well when installed in the front of a home in conjunction with an existing street lamp or other source of night light. The image is stunning at night thanks to the camera’s LEDs, with a warm color temperature that effectively captures shadow detail.High quality metal construction; fully compatible with Dahua metal mounting brackets; 2.8 mm lens is the widest lens, so crisscrossing front yard cameras to achieve blanket cctv coverage is relatively straightforward.

Great Camera.
I have an older analog system not the newer Ethernet style. Finding good cameras for it is tough. This one exceeded. My expectations. It came with several options on how to connect it. Iâll be honest, I really donât know what the different options mean, but I plugged it in and tried a couple settings until it worked. I didnât really understand the directions and what each setting means but it all worked out great. The unit says it has a microphone although my system doesnât use it, so I canât tell you anything about that. As far as the picture, itâs really nice. I can view it online through my phone and can zoom in to see clear details. I think the picture quality at night is a little less than during the day but I expect that because itâs night. During the day, the picture is clear and crisp. The unit feels well built and sturdy. Also, the only suggestion Iâd have is to create a dip switch to allow the front lights to work or be totally disabled, but that wouldnât deter me from getting another one of these cameras

Not for me!
this camera when used with my analog security system had horrible image quality. im sure if you have an hd system it would look great. but it really downscales on analog mode. the bright lights used for night mode were also a huge issue as i really dont want my security cameras to be noticable.
