Overall a Good and Versatile Camera
I love Amcrest cameras for their dependability, and for their seamless integration with Blue Iris and Scrypted. Opting for wired ethernet connections for all my cameras has resulted in a flawless performance without any dropouts or missed recordings, and prevents my WiFi from getting bogged down. The price / performance value of this outdoor PTZ (Pan, Tilt, and Zoom) camera stands out to me. The PTZ feature allows for flexible viewing angles, such as pointing the camera downward to check for deliveries or adjusting it to monitor my driveway. This reduces the need for multiple cameras. Although it can’t record in two directions at once like two separate cameras would, the convenience of adjusting the viewing angle is a significant advantage. For situations that demand coverage from multiple angles, I’m open to adding more cameras.Setting it up was straightforward. The package includes a template and the necessary hardware for installation. Once set up, accessing the configuration page is easy through a web browser connected to the same network, using the camera’s local IP address. This might require checking the router’s client list to find the camera’s IP.This particular camera supports using POE which is a technology that allows you to send low voltage power along with the data on a single ethernet cable. This requires that the end of the ethernet cable opposite the camera is being provided power. Usually that’s power comes from a POE-capable switch, but you can by a POE injector separately if your switch doesn’t support POE (a very simple upgrade). The whole POE capability allows for a really clean install look with just one wire going into the back of the camera. Along those lines, bear in mind that now you have an ethernet cable hanging outside your home that someone can use to potentially get onto your network. Is it likely? Probably not. Having someone standing outside your house with some device using a hardwire connection is going to be pretty easy to spot. There are also ways you can lock that down too, but that is beyond the scope of this review. Just note that it can be done if you feel it is warranted. The build quality is impressive for its price, and I was able to place the camera under an overhang for added protection against the elements, hoping it extends its lifespan. However, the inherent drawback of PTZ cameras is the potential wear and tear on their moving parts over time.In the few weeks I have had it, I’ve not experienced a single camera problem. It has reliably provided a crystal clear video in both day and night. Overall I am exceptionally pleased with this purchase.

Kinda not worth it
I own many different amcrest cameras and i have installed many different kinds of cameras not just amcrest. Majority of the time, i’m pretty satisfied with amcrest cameras the bank for your buck and 4k cameras are worth it. However this PTZ camera isn’t worth it. The first one I had to return due to the camera having hardware and software issues straight out of the box and in the past NEVER and i mean NEVER had an issue with any of the amcrest cameras. I tried resetting the camera still resulted in many different issues anywhere from certain features not working or the camera completely losing connection over POE. I thought maybe the NVR was an issue so i hooked it up to my ai-powered NVR still resulted with the same issue. I requested a replacement which WOW got it the next day! Good job amazon and amcrest. I’ll see how the replacement goes as of now its just not worth it buy amcrests other PTZ cameras this one not worth it. Video quality isn’t worth $100 i have several dome camera from amcrest that are $100 or less and they’re way better on quality. The PTZ and built-in mic and speaker does work as they’re suppose to however this one isn’t great at using it as a two way audio if you have the listen and speak feature on. a lot of random echo happens on the camera side of things resulting the person in front of the camera struggling to understand you. The PTZ feature works as any other amcrest PTZ cameras it works flawlessly. One thing i will say that amcrest definitely made cheaper BUT however is still great compared to the metal stand. The new plastic stand is perfect 4 screws then attach the camera to it you can setup the camera easily hanging from a ceiling or sidemount. Don’t worry about the weight of the camera its not heavy at all compared to my other amcrest ptz camera that definitely needs the metal mount.UpdateGood news r eplacement camera has been working outwith disconnecting like the old camera for several days now BAD news no matter what settings i turn on or off the spot light just won’t turn on no matter what. Very disappointed with this camera i just don’t think its work the time with flaws amcrest has other ptz camera that are wayyyyyy better than this one but you’ll need to spend a little more but if the PTZ part isn’t as important to you then you can definitely get a better camera for same or less or even a little more money.

Functionally Fine for Task
The camera works well. I replaced an IP2M-841 with this unit. It fills that role well except having no zoom feature is strange. I didnât use the Z feature of the old PTZ much where the camera is located so not much impact. The speaker is quite loud compared to the old unit.

Bigger than I would like but easy setup and great night/day image quality.
One of my 7-year-old Amcrest PTZs died, and this IP5M-1190EW was the smallest one I could find to replace it. It is 1″ taller than the old IP2M-841EW, and the lens housing is 1″ wider. It is also 126g heavier. Once mounted under my soffit, the new camera actually has a shorter overall drop (less than 6.5″) thanks to its low-profile mount compared to the old camera at an uglier 7.5″ drop.I wish the lens housing was also white so it blended in better with surroundings and was not so noticeable.I do like how Amcrest cameras are still very fast to set up thanks to the web GUI. The other camera company that begins with an R (owned by the same parent company of Amcrest) now requires users to install an app first to enable the web GUI.This camera mentions an 80-degree tilt, which is great for looking straight down at, say, packages on your front porch. I was hoping for 90 degrees like the old IP2M-841EW, but this appears to be almost close enough.I had this up and running in Blue Iris within minutes. For the video stream I used the Amcrest model “*ProHD/IP2/3/4K/4M/8M Main Stream RTSP” and to get the PT settings to work I needed to use the “Amcrest/Dahua” profile. While not perfect, if I need another pan/tilt camera in the near future, this will be the first one I consider.
