Awesome light bulbs, easy set up
For some reason, someone decided when they redid my kitchen (a rental) to put in 6 flood lights for the lighting. Good Lord thatâs bright! I had switched them out to 45w bulbs which was awesome until they died and I couldnât find a replacement. Enter dimmable smart bulbs! I love that these are connected to Alexa! I am going to purchase some more regular bulbs to put through the rest of my house. As a woman who lives alone, being able to make it look like people are here when they isnât, is a big deal to making me feel more safe. Thank you Amazon!Ps. I had a bunch of Hue bulbs Iâm going to replace with the Amazon one because I donât need to hook up a stupid hub! AWESOME!

Super easy!
My dining fixture is on the same line as the kitchen lights. Itâs bothered me for years now that an unneeded light is on at times. The Alexa compatible bulb is the perfect solution. It was super simple to enable with the app, it was done in maybe 3 minutes at the most.I love the dimmable feature too. So far I have nothing negative to say.

Finally! An easy to connect bulb
These are life changing I was dreading installing these after my awful experiences with Phillips Hue bulbs that won’t connect. These are so easy just open Alexa app they pop up. Just name the bulb it takes less than a minute for each bulb. We moved into a new house that 10 recessed bulbs it takes 3 switches to turn them all on now I can turn them all on at once with one voice command.

As Advertised
I wanted to be able to dim the ceiling lights near the TV. These were easy to set up using the Alexa App and provided QR codes. Renaming the lights was easy. I asked Alexa to add each light (like “TV Light 1”) to the desired group (like “Family Room”).It was easy to control the group and lights individually using Alexa.I couldn’t find a way to make the lights pulse or change colors continuously. This isn’t a deal breaker and wasn’t expected, but that is a capability with the GoVee lights I purchased.

Doesnât pair with Alexa
I have several smart bulbs that I use with Alexa app. This bulb does not recognize wifi, therefore âsmartâ feature does not work. Tried multiple times and used troubleshooting info. It does not work. Disappointed with having to return.

Issues with dimmer switch, but otherwise great
I used these Amazon Basics smart bulbs to replace inset Phillips dimmable LED bulbs in my dining room. Setting them up in the Alexa app was simple. There were four QR codes on the back of the paperwork that came with the bulbs, one QR for each of them. You just scan the QR codes in the Alexa app, one at a time, and they get added and setup on your wifi network automatically. I then added them to my “Dining Room” group, so I can say, “Alexa, turn on the Doing room lights.” Works great. Two issues I ran into installing these bulbs. First, two of them were strobing really bad when I first turned on the light switch. It turns out they don’t like being on a dimmer switch. My light switch has the little slider on the side of the on/off switch, and it was slid up to bright mode, but apparently not quite all the way. The strobing stopped when I pushed the slider all the way to the top. The second issue is I got a bit of buzzing sound from one of the bulbs. It buzzes when the dimmer is all the way on bright. Maybe it’s related to the dimmer switch as well. I may end up swapping out the dimmer switch for a standard on/off switch. If it’s not that then I have one bad bulb. The buzzing stops if I tell Alexa to dim the bulb. I had no such issues with the Phillips LED bulbs.Another thing to be aware of is that if you tell Alexa to turn off the lights, and then you shut off the switch or lose power; when you turn the switch back on or the power comes back the lights will turn on. So if you are away from home and you have a power outage the lights may come back on and stay on.I love being able to tell Alexa to turn the lights on and off, or to dim the lights. I have two Echo Studios in the same room. The lights I have are the soft white bulbs. I didn’t see any need to go with color changing bulbs. The color of the bulbs seems exactly the same temperature as the Phillips bulbs they replaced.
